Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on January 14, 2025January 14, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SHOOT TO FAME has found an extremely winnable race to commence her preparation. 1100m is no doubt short of her best distance, however, as a 2 year old over 1200m she finished within half a length of Supido Express / Zippy Zany and within 2.5L off Mohegan Ruler, The Top Bar and Coondle. This is weak. SHINE AND BURN can burn to the top with blinkers on and no weight on her back. CHAMPAGNE CATHAY has big beaten margins to her name but against better animals than these. SHEZASEER next best. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – SHOOT TO FAME WIN RACE 2 NET ZERO looks to have found his most winnable race of his career. Flashed home into fourth first-up behind American Escape and then went to a 3 year old Plate last time out when finishing 5.7L off Noahquintilly. Back into a maiden, out to 1690m and looks to get his chance. MAID AN OFFER gets CJP on and has been going okay from poor draws recently. SHE’S RESOLUTE is a real one paced type but at least now she’s getting out to a more preferred distance. May need to be put into the race. RIGHTY OH gave a bit of cheek from out in front last start. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – NET ZERO WIN RACE 3 EXTREME RULER ran well on debut when splitting Money Trees and Santanova and off that performance was plunged into odds on last start. Loomed the winner when pushing into clear galloping room but peaked late in the race to finish a distant second. Month between runs, wide gate are both unknowns but ability wise he’s the most talented horse in this. LUNCH IN PARIS has been safely held in both her runner-up performances and will need a big ride from the draw. SANCTIONS can lead them here. SWINDLE THE DOUGH wasn’t bad last start. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – EXTREME RULER WIN RACE 4 GOLD RUBY was the best closer behind Kamakazi Shooter last start and that was first-up, no trial over 1300m. Should only be improving second-up, finds another relatively weak maiden and with natural fitness benefit looks hard to hold out late. Always had a bit of time for her. CELEBRITY SKIN was ridden by a junior rider at trials and was finding the line nicely late. Keep safe. WAR TRAIL was doing his best late on debut over 1200m. SHE’S PERFECTION couldn’t sprint with them first-up, just looks like she’ll need further quickly. Numbers: 9 – 12 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – GOLD RUBY WIN RACE 5 MANZOR MAGIC resumed over 1400m in a C3 at Pinjarra behind in form mare Ain’tsobad. Think that’s as good a form reference as any in this line-up and the step up in distance is only going to enhancing his winning chances. The way Belhus Racing is going at the minute he’ll be hard to beat! FULL OF MERIT didn’t lead last start and that’s against her usual racing pattern. Can roll to the top this time around. STIRKING FELLA has been going consistently well in the country area and this is arguably weaker. DELTA ANNE always an eachway hope. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – MANZOR MAGIC WIN RACE 6 EN PLEIN AIR and ESSENTRIC NATURE give Grant & Alana Williams a stranglehold over this C3 1100. Between the pair they’ll probably take up ~75-80% of the market and looks on paper like one of the two will come out victorious. Going to side up with ESSENTRIC NATURE who beat home impressive first-up winner Bold Hero in a 950m trial and resumes in WA as a gelding. EN PLEIN AIR is the beneficiary of the Chanel Cooper claim and she could cross and lead this if they wished. MAGNASONIC is trying hard. GUARD THE SAFE gets a soft run. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – ESSENTRIC NATURE WIN RACE 7 ENSIGN PULVER is a 10 year old and doesn’t win out of turn (5 from 84) but these 46+ races are made for him. He won a 46+ at York four back and last time out he wasn’t disgraced behind Village Girl over 1200m and will appreciate a step back out to 1400m. The fact CJP sticks is a big bonus. RUBICK LASS was run off her legs first-up behind Chino La Diva. Think she’s better suited here at 1400. SHOULDER PATCH drops back in grade and gives ZJP a legitimate winning chance upon return from injury. POINTLESS PRAISE a watch at his WA debut. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ENSIGN PULVER WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 4,6,9,11,12 1,2,3 2,4 1,2,3,7 Market Market
