Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 9, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PORPHYRIO could be a horses for courses type. York is a tricky little track and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his outing two starts ago. Far from disgraced against Inflation in what should be a strong form race. FLIRTY FRIARS should open a price and has shown glimpses at both trials and at the races. VAGABOND BOY is consistent and never far away. Drawn gate 1 and Jarrad Noske could be the winning formula. AMITY ROSE can improve if finding the fence first. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – PORPHYRIO WIN Race 2 RICH TURF looks to have found her race. Has been well supported at her two most recent runs and her three midfield efforts behind classy maiden types looks far superior form to what any of her rivals bring. Should be breaking her maiden here. MEGATALK has been getting back and running on well enough to run a cheeky race at odds here. KING OF PLANETS is an interesting running jumping from 1000 out to 1500. Should lead and run. HARD TOO CEE next best on the fence. Numbers: 10 – 7 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – RICH TURF WIN Race 3 OLIVIA KNOWS is drawn to lead and should prove hard to run down if she can corner well on the tight track. So far has been run down in three above average speed races and controls the tempo again here. SUPER TEROITOA has not been to the races in over 1000 days and is a 6 year old having start number three but looked very good at trials. RUBIX CUBE was an improver at her most recent trial and another resuming off a long break. MASCHINO NATION showed a bit at her most recent trial. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – OLIVIA KNOWS WIN Race 4 LIPSTICK FLICKERS ran into the smart Inflation first-up this preparation and did the work in the breeze before fading late. Should get every possible chance from the draw and that form looks strong. WHY CHOOSE HER gets under the radar and has run better races than looks on paper. READ THE RIOT act was backed off the charts last start, draws 1, blinkers on, Noske on and has speed. LIDO BEACH has trialed well enough for his debut to feature. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – LIPSTICK FLICKERS WIN Race 5 THROWDOWN is an intriguing runner. Debut over 1920m from an outside gate but the recent 1450m trial was good enough and there is not a lot of opposition in this field. LIKE HIM A BIT should find the front and went close at this track and distance two starts ago. SASSY ‘N’ RED has been getting a long way back and running home strongly at her last three. Draw may be against her. AL’S FAMOUS could be a knock out hope with a soft run in transit. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 9 – 10 Suggested Bet – THROWDOWN WIN Race 6 BURGER TIME has teased punters so far this preparation. His first-up run at this track was excellent and then his past two closing efforts at Ascot have been equally impressive. Massive horse who can cop the weight, this looks his. NEVARDA leads them up for a long way and is the one to run down. BLACK SMUGGLER could be the improver with shades on. Yet to hit form of last preparation. ASHALILY has been going well since joining the Pateman stable. Honest type. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – BURGER TIME WIN Race 7 PLAY HARD looks like finding the front again here and with the 3kg claim goes round with a winnable weight. Ran well last start and can go on with it. SKINNEN TINS won well three starts ago and then has been solid at her past two. The Arcadia Queen / Platoon form looks good. ALL SQUARE hit the line well behind Neurological and if she gets the right cart into the race looks a danger. BLOOMY’S SUN ran his best race of the preparation last start, in the mix. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – PLAY HARD WIN Race 8 JERAFT will be short in the market but should box seat and beat 98% these on class alone. Is a last start 72+ winner in town and on paper it looks like there is only one real danger. LIKE A BUTTERFLY ran well first-up in the same race as Jeraft. If she is scratched from Saturday she’ll be the big danger. If she runs Saturday then Jeraft salutes. MOSSERATTI looks plain on paper but ran a belter in this race last year. Horses for courses. MRS BROWN’S BOY races right on the speed and should be better suited at this trip. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – JERAFT WIN Race 9 CARRANYA LASS won well albeit in maiden grade first-up after a nice trial. Looks to have ability and from the gate should get the right run to make it two from two this preparation. MONASH goes very well at York and if can get across from an outside gate will be tough to run down. Nice recent trial at Belmont too. AMELIE ARGOT was crunched first-up and failed to give a yelp. Interesting to see how the market rates her here. DRIFTWOOD GIRL is far better suited at 1200m than first-up when she ran well. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – CARRANYA LASS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,4 1,2,3,5 1,2 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,10 Market Market
