Scott Embry’s Sunday Pinjarra Preview Posted on December 1, 2023December 1, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 First race of the season is down the 1000m straight and it is littered with debutants who have all trialled reasonably well. MY JIMMY has the outside fence to his advantage but does look like he’ll likely settle off the pace which is far from ideal. Has found the line really strongly in both trial appearances and looks to have natural ability. G’DAY BLOKE is jump and run. How often are these 1000m straight races won by the horse leading against the outside fence. Respect. DON GENERALE wasn’t asked for an effort at trials. Was a very slow trial and five of them went across the line together which is not normally a great indicator. TRA LA LA trialled really well but is drawn the dreaded ‘wrong’ side. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – MY JIMMY WIN RACE 2 BONNY ROCK may have run into a sharp one last start in Lost City. She never gave it away after being shaken off on straightening and they streaked the rest of the field in a race run almost 5L faster than maiden average. Happy to follow that form through and she should land an ideal spot from a favourable draw. PANDORA GIRL and MAXINE’S WISH both come through the Regal Statue race which was run 4.5L faster than average and has unsurprisingly already produced a plunge winner in Rocket Juice. Shades and Pike for Pandora. VENTURO comes into a maiden for the first time after racing in a C1 and a 3 year old Plate in two starts to date. Deep race and a really good form race going forward. Numbers: 16 – 11 – 13 – 9 Suggested Bet – BONNY ROCK WIN RACE 3 THINK OF GOD was one of the more impressive trial winners of the day at Belmont on 20 November. She sat back, she eased out to the centre and she gobbled them up in a matter of two strides to win soft and impressively. This is another deep race with some legitimate dangers but if she brings her trial to race day she should go well. JUST ADORABELLE really caught the eye (again) at her return to racing. She gets back which is never ideal but she’s got a big L600 for a maiden mare. KRATESIS was a soft trial but had nothing under the hood when asked to extend fresh. WATCH ME ROCK was held up for a long way at trials before flashing late. Just would have liked to see Wattelse do a bit more on debut. Numbers: 12 – 8 – 15 – 5 Suggested Bet – THINK OF GOD WIN RACE 4 FULL OF MERIT was ridden to perfection by Holly Watson last start and looked to have pinched it on straightening before the ominous shadow of Autumn Rebel descended upon her to grab her right on the post. Autumn Rebel went from that maiden into the WA Guineas and prior to that was luckless behind Zipaway. Stiff to run into one of those types in a maiden. You know what you’ll get from here – she’ll jump, she’ll roll forward and she’ll kick into the corner. COULDHAVEBEEN may well follow her across from out deep. Lightly raced and trialled nicely for his return. BLAZING EMERALD loomed large at York but couldn’t quite pick them up. Better suited over 1500m. NANARUP was excellent first-up. Numbers: 12 – 7 – 13 – 5 Suggested Bet – FULL OF MERIT WIN RACE 5 CIAO BLOOMY was heavily targeted in betting last start and ran an honest second behind Speak To Me in a 1420. Gets the right run from the inside barrier and this race doesn’t look to have any more depth than last start. Should be there abouts. TANGLED TALK was eased out of the race last start when Jordy Turner’s left foot was dislodged from the iron and he couldn’t get it back in (watch the replay – great effort to give it three or four cracks). Prior runs sound. VANCOUVER STORM looks like he’ll keep whacking away. SHE’S PERFECTION trialled like she would need at least 1500m to produce her best. Numbers: 10 – 2 – 5 – 16 Suggested Bet – CIAO BLOOMY WIN RACE 6 FLASH PADDY looks ready to break through for a deserving win. So far this preparation has jumped from barrier 13 of 16, 9 of 10 and 9 of 12 and has been forced to do work at some stage in running to find the position they’ve wanted. Now from barrier 3 William Pike gets the opportunity to ride his own race and when that happens he’s lethal. Hard to hold out late. KILLARNEY went to a C1 last start and wasn’t disgraced behind God’s Garden. Prior to that was in the same race as Flash Paddy behind Henry Has Spoken. SOUND THE CHARGE races like he’s looking for ground and gets it here. GUESS WHO’S BACK tries hard. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 14 Suggested Bet – FLASH PADDY WIN RACE 7 CELEBRITY ICON should be just about ready to show her best and gets out to a staying trip for the first time in the campaign. There’s a lot of speed in this (Big Swoop, Expelliarmus, Olden, Devonia, Powerful Force and Float Our Boat) so Chris Parnham should be able to park behind the speed and enjoy a soft run for the first 1000. Ready to peak. OLDEN wasn’t disgraced in the York Cup when racing a mile outside the handicap. Much better race for him. BIG SWOOP will have to work to find a spot but this is excellent placement. Won a 60+ only two starts back and finds himself in a 50+. SOCIAL IMPACT won well at Geraldton. 10/10 ride to take off when he did. Numbers: 12 – 4 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – CELEBRITY ICON EACHWAY RACE 8 CAPTAIN PLUTO trialled well for his WA debut when beating San Fabirizio and showed with his first-up run behind Climb On Top that he’ll be a nice acquisition for Grant & Alana Williams as he looks to work his way through the grades and the distances. Went around in a Group 1 SA Derby at 2500m behind Dunkel in May and in time looks like making a nice ratings stayer. Fresh run was super and if he reproduces second-up at 1500m he’ll be hard to hold out. KEYTRADE looks the logical danger. Great run last start when only nabbed late by an in form Malkar Pindari. Should land in the right spot. GAGE ROADS seems to go out of his way to find traffic. HESKET looms but isn’t quite finishing off. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN PLUTO WIN RACE 9 BAYZID looks your ideal jump and run 1000m straight horse. He’ll go quick, he should be able to find the outisde fence and if he does he’ll take running down. His last two efforts have been sectionally blistering: won a C1 going 6L faster than average and then was nabbed on the post by a smart 3 year old in Stormchaser when going 3.5L faster than C3 average. RENATO has a big turn of foot when he’s on song. Can be a bit hit and miss but when he brings his A-Game he’s better than a C3 sprinter. Loved his trial. MAGNALEE an improver back into a more appropriate race. Proven down the straight is huge in my book. DESERT NYMPH will have to overcome the horrible barrier 1 straight track history. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 11 – 7 Suggested Bet – BAYZID WIN RACE 10 SENTIMENTAL BELLE drops from a C3 back into a C1 and could not have gone any better behind Ima Single Gal and Harmika first-up. How Ima Single Gal has broken 1:10 I’ll never know but she did a super job to still run third. Great race for her. ESPRIT GARCON is all excitement and X-Factor. Backed as if unbeatable first-up and put on a galloping exhibition extended down the centre at Northam to win untouched by over 2.5L. Rises 2kg, rises 200m and draws awkwardly but he’s raw and he’s good. GOOD MEASURE won well on debut. Glad it didn’t take long for the Bunbury + Lane + Parnham = Cash equation to reaffirm its position as punting theft. AMARLIE MISS another who is better than C1. Finish top 6 in this and be on next start. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 5 – 13 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL BELLE WIN Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) FD 2,3,6 4,6 1,5,10,13 Market Market
