RACE 1

BRONTE’S DREAM goes quick but doesn’t have much under the hood when asked for an effort in the concluding stages. Bit like KBRC cult hero Mervyn – just 20 or so lengths less talented. On the 7 day spin, 1200 back to 1100 and left alone in front she can pinch this. One last chance for her. BRAZEN EMPRESS is a new comer to the region and actually beat home ROYAL ACCOLADE by 4L in a race behind Call Of Duty at Bunbury back in January. ROYAL ACCOLADE joins Josh Brown and has shown glimpses from time to time. EXCELLENTIA makes his debut and gets a soft run.

RACE 2

TWIST OF GOLD was excellent last start going from a maiden with 53.5kg to a C2 with 57kg. Only run down late by first starter in WA Parori and they stopped the clock 3.5L faster than C2 average. Now drops back into a C1 but most importantly stays at 1100m. Straight to the front and catch me if you can tactics. WANNA CRACKER meets her a whopping 5.5kg better from their maiden encounter with only a 1.5L margin to turn around. Great use of the claim. BLITZEM BABE has a senior going on and CELESTIAL FOX could round out the MR Peter Fernie first four. 90% of the field (or 57 to be accurate) makes him hard to beat.

RACE 3

SHE’S A MACHINE and DUBLIN RED clashed in the race behind Captain Rogers last start this track/distance/grade and considering Captain Rogers pushed in form plunge galloper Onemoreforleo last Sunday that’s the obvious form reference race. Thinking that SHE’S A MACHINE can get the job done here after back to back encouraging efforts. No doubt Paul Rowe’s focus will be on Californication at Belmont on Saturday but this is also a big winning chance for the weekend. DUBLIN RED took the step from maiden into C2 company well. FLYING THE FLAG is looking for three straight wins since joining Cambana Lodge. MINOR DETAIL is a month between runs but going well.

RACE 4

UNLIKELY HERO is a first starter in the West for new trainer Charlotte Skerritt. Had 7 starts and has placed at four of them. Beaten under half a length at his last three suggests that he’ll be a competitive horse in the maidens in Kalgoorlie. Wouldn’t need to be a star to win this either. LACIE ACE is better than what she produced in her first run on the Goldfields for Helen Harding. AUTO SPARK has ability but tests the waters at 1300. EDWARDS CHOICE is getting close.

RACE 5 

RED CADILLAC has been going super this preparation without winning. Great run fresh over 1200 behind now Ascot winner Treasured Queen (races in a 66+ at Belmont Saturday), narrow second to stablemate Dance Of Thunder when forced deep under 59.5kg two back and last start got a mile off them on a day where it was extremely difficult to make ground and under the 60kg rattled home into third behind All On Black and subsequent winner Onemoreforleo. 2/2 over the 1760 and deserves to win one. DAWN ENIGMA has been good in those same races recently. ARCADIA JEWEL might be better suited with the senior back on. KALLAROO hasn’t won for a long time now.

RACE 6

VINYL burst onto the 70+ scene with a big win fresh over 1300m. Rises up 3.5kg on that but she’s always looked the kind of mare who could work her way to the top of the ratings races in the region with her electric turn of acceleration. Meets a near identical line-up and see no reason why she can’t zap them again. KICK A GOAL SON was really popular with punters in the same race and did a great job to finish off into second. Gets a 1kg weight swing to try and turn the tables. DUNBAR was a tough watch in that event – missed the kick and then held up the entire home straight. GLUTEN FREE next best.

RACE 7

HIDDEN RUBY finished third behind Californication and Abloh last start in the Kalgoorlei heat of the Sky Racing Provincial Series and given the expectation on those two Goldfields gallopers in the $100,000 Final at Belmont Park on Saturday expect that the form will look good by Sunday for Hidden Ruby. Maps well, puts herself into a commanding position and is in great form. KELLY’S LI ZA LU was a ripper run in the same race after missing the kick and getting shuffled back to a tough spot in running. Love the way she’s going. They look the two. HONEST LEGEND drops a stack of weight with the claim and leads. KAKADU next.
