Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on July 29, 2022July 29, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 GOT LUCKY finished second last Sunday behind Keeper’s Dream. Bit of a query on the quality of that form, however, it means that he beat home Lucifer and Manitoba who look two of his main dangers here. Gets his opportunity. SHOTGUN ROCA brings the alternate form which at this time of the year is normally a good thing. Ran third at a mile behind Secret Lair and The Panzer. That’s good enough to win this. LUCIFER is trying hard and should get a gun run from the draw. MANITOBA has had a lot of racing in a short amount of time. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – GOT LUCKY WIN RACE 2 LITTLE SCHNITTY went around $1.60 last Sunday and simply didn’t run out a strong 1400m. Back to 1200m looks the key for her and on the 7 day back-up she looks hard to beat in this. MAIDMY WAY is very speedy. She won a 400m jump out breaking 24 seconds so with only 53.5kg if she crosses to lead she may take some running down. MARTY’S PARTY promised to win a race all season in Esperance and went close on a number of occasions. MY RANI had excuses first-up. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – LITTLE SCHNITTY WIN RACE 3 SHAKE BABY SHAKE had trialled up quite nicely at Lark Hill leading into her first-up assignment in a 3 year old 0MLWY at Belmont when drifting in the market and running accordingly. Stewards report suggests that she failed to handle the soft track conditions so the move to Kalgoorlie to an improving Soft5/Good4 from a deteriorating Soft6/7 looks a big plus. PRAWNS ELEVEN is doing things on raw ability at the moment. Think he’ll make a handy horse in time but at the moment he’s racing a late season 2 year old, doing everything wrong and still going really well. BELLA SPRITE can improve at odds returning to Kal. FACTORY MADE kept fighting on after being crunched in betting last week. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – SHAKE BABY SHAKE WIN RACE 4 FEUDING was utterly huge last week. Won a moderate 1400m maiden first start for Nick Carapellotti and then was dropping back to 1200m which looked completely unsuitable. Got right out the back and charged to the line when it was all over. 7 days later he returns to 1400m and if he reproduces his L600 he’ll be right there. Improving type. LOOK UP looked hard to beat on paper last weekend. Got the job done but probably not quite as easy as expected. He is a work in progress. SEEABLE is now awkwardly caught between grades. 63kg in a C2 makes things really tough. MY SQUEEZE LOUISE comes into this fresh after a let up. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – FEUDING WIN RACE 5 BLAZING TYCOON is never far from the action but always needs an ounce of luck in his races. Drawn barrier 1 will either be a blessing if the gaps appear or a hard luck story if they don’t. You’ll get eachway and you’ll need it with her racing pattern. Going undeniably well but a tough horse to follow with great confidence. THERE’S A CHANCE beat him home last start at 1400m. The drop back in trip is probably not ideal but he’s racing really well. JAKESTAR let down strongly last Sunday. On his day he’s a genuine 70+ type. MY BABY BLUE JEAN is racing like she’s looking for further. We’ll find out here. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – BLAZING TYCOON EACHWAY RACE 6 SHOOT UR SHOT has been a great acquisition for the stables of Helen Harding. Was grinding out the 1760 well enough last start to suggest that with even luck in running he’ll be there abouts again in an open and even event. CUBAN TWIST should be nearly ready. Model of consistency on the Goldfields and this looks a suitable assignment. STRATOCREED caught the eye last start working home nicely into fifth. FIRE AT WILL drops right down to 52.5kg and has a turn of foot. This is a big step up in grade but looks like in time he will make it at this level. Brings intrigue. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – SHOOT UR SHOT WIN RACE 7 DARK MISSION has blinkers on, ear muffs off, lugging bit on and tongue tie on. Luke Fernie throwing all the gear changes at her and dropping her back into a c58+ after racing well in the metro/provincial area over recent months. Love the barrier draw for her and love the fact he has stuck with a senior. She has a powerful turn of speed and this looks a nice set up for her. LONG WEEKEND is going through his grades and if he can get across into a commanding position without burning too much petrol he’s the danger. EMERALD ROSE has evolved from consistent top 4 chance to consistent winning chance in the last 12 months. KNIGHT TEMPEST can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – DARK MISSION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,4 5,6,7,8,10 1,2,3,6 1,5 Market Market
