Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 22, 2026May 22, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 JEKYLL ISLAND going really well. This preparation he has finished third to God’s Wrath and third to Deeply Rooted and in that most recent form reference race he beat home Mojo Mio, Amira Girl and Joyhouse Rock in the process. Should be able to settle closer in a smaller line-up and gets his chance to break through. BONDI BUSINESS has shades on, goes back in distance from 1600 to 1200m and quite often the alternate form is the strongest form in these country maidens. Racing lengths below his best this campaign but any of his 3 year old runs would see him demolish these. MOJO MIO would probably prefer if this was 1100 than 1200m. JOYHOUSE ROCK nearly won on debut, wasn’t the same horse second-up. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – JEKYLL ISLAND WIN RACE 2 MAD SPITFIRE got held up at crucial stages last week behind tiring horses whilst the leader and winner was off and gone. Previous to that sat over the speed and ran third behind Royal Guardian and thinking that with the senior going on he can again kick through to lead and control. SO MANY STORIES went within a short head of breaking her maiden in a C2 last week when she went to the line locked together with Rivercrest Magic at 50-1, with odds on favourite and previous C1 winner Jayashree back in third. Quite simply if she reproduces that run 7 day later in a maiden she’ll be winning. But a big query on whether she can? LANTA was super last start. Tricky draw here to navigate early. ACOUSITC BUBBLES was much better last start. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – MAD SPITFIRE WIN RACE 3 MONTY ZOOMER is going from strength to strength and is the perfect horse for Hong Kong apprentice Jason Li in the early parts of his career. Straight to the front, roll them along, let him do what he wants in the home straight and safely hold off the challengers. On paper this looks an even thinner race than what he’s won at his last two outings and expect with the 54kg he’ll be leading and winning again. FEUDING has a set of shades going on and gets out to a more suitable trip, but query whether he’s had enough? RUNFORROB was 1.6L off Monty last weekend and now meets him 1.5kg worse at the weights. SNIPPERANDO steps out quickly in distance. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – MONTY ZOOMER WIN RACE 4 I’M GENEVIEVE was a big drifter last start and never got into the contest, but didn’t think her run was horrible. You could see Tash Faithfull trying to push her into clear air at multiple different stages and she was knocked around in a messy race where the stablemate was out of trouble and rolling. Lucy Fiore jumps aboard and willing to go one more time with her. Form prior to the flop at Pinjarra was elite. SLIPERY FISH had shades added last time out and was a completely different mare. No doubt will look to work to the breeze and park outside stablemate Nistirith who is suspect at 1200. SPANGLEDSTAR is loving life on the Goldfields but back to 1200m and cluttered away in traffic probably isn’t ideal. DEEPLY ROOTED took a nice step from his maiden into a C2 last weekend and wasn’t disgraced behind Dancewithme. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – I’M GENEVIEVE WIN RACE 5 BOAB BOY was a brilliant winner a fortnight ago when beating Just Famous and powering to the line. He’s always been a handy grass type, back in his Brett Pope days and his Simon Miller day and quickly reminded us all that he isn’t just a Leinster/Laverton/Leonora Cups horse. PRAWNS ELEVEN finished second to Don’t Wait For Luck last week at 1300m and on the 7-day spin comes back to 1100, reunites with Natika Riordan and should be able to park up right over the speed. He’s drawn outside Sure Thing, but inside of Science Degree so that should allow him to land a really nice spot. Going super but the handicapper nearly has him now at c88. SURE THING Is better than what he produced in that race. CLOSE AT HAND back to 1100, drawn wide, 61kg – that’s a task. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – BOAB BOY WIN RACE 6 DREAMERS NEVER DIE looks really well placed here into this 58+ 1300. First-up without a trial he finished third behind Stylin’ who heads to the $100,000 Final at Belmont on Saturday and instead of heading there second-up Peter Fernie scratched him and saved him for this very winnable race on Sunday at his home track. Was marginally held up in that event and should only be fitter second-up. Add Lucy Fiore to the saddle and we’ve likely got one of the better backed runners on the program. HIGH PRECISION isn’t winning races but she’s absolutely savaging the line, week in week out. SCOTTISH LAIRD finds this much easier than the 70+ he raced in last weekend. THE LIONS’ GATE can burn across and look for a spot. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – DREAMERS NEVER DIE WIN RACE 7 JUST SUBLIME ran well last start in a 58+ behind Monty Zoomer, who could easily frank that form in Race 3 by winning again in 64+ grade. Drops back into a C2, has the necessary tactical speed early to hold a spot and looks to have struck a winnable assignment. Back to 1400m seems to be her sweet spot and Tash Faithfull has chosen to ride her out of the ¾ options she would have had in this event. ROYAL GUARDIAN did things wrong when breaking her maiden. All things considered, she could have won that by 3 – 4 lengths if she stepped? LUMINOUS LADY was the target of good backing last start which you don’t normally see with the maiden gallopers into a C2. VAIN UNIVERSE was really good last start at 20-1. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – JUST SUBLIME WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3,9 1,4,5 2 1,4,6,7,10 Market Market
