Scott Embry’s Sunday Geraldton Preview Posted on December 15, 2023December 15, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DUO MUSO looks one of many chances for Luke Fernie’s travelling team. She has a senior rider on, she’s got a barrier to work with and her recent efforts behind Rocket Juice and Just Adorabelle have been sound in provincial maidens. Country maiden is easier and she only carries an extra 1.5kg comparative to last start. Gets her chance. LIBERTY DAME did everything but win last week. On the 8 day back-up she’ll be going close again. Only a matter of time until she wins one. FINE LINE has drawn wide at both runs since arriving in Geraldton. Was a massive drifter in betting last start and ran accordingly. Firs-tup run was much better than that. HERO IN THE WIND hasn’t raced since June 2022 but trialled well at Belmont twice. Numbers: 9 – 6 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – DUO MUSO WIN RACE 2 STAY ASTERN finished in the minor money behind Duchess Of Gossip back in his DMac days. Since arriving in the care of Julia Martin he’s been an honest customer and rattled home from some shocking barriers. Now he’s drawn 2 and he really looks to get his opportunity. SUPER SNIPPY will need some luck from an awkward draw but some of his recent runs have been sound. He got a long way back behind Zing To Win at Bunbury two back but hit the line full of running and then was fair last start behind Just Adorabelle. If Duo Muso was to come out and win in Race 1 then that will further frank that form. PIO KERRI was well supported in betting first-up. ROCKING PRETTY was alright at Belmont trials. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – STAY ASTERN WIN RACE 3 TRIBAL RULER was really good behind Major Mario and Hillside Horace firs-tup and then has been competitive in midfield positions behind Henry Has Spoken and Full Of Merit at Bunbury and Pinjarra. Perfectly drawn and should get every chance. HILLSIDE HORACE has gone under at $1.70 and $2.30 at his last two outings but the runs have still had merit. He’s now a month between runs and has a set of blinkers going on. He’ll get back, he’ll run on, it’s just whether he again leaves himself too much to do late. DENZOE is now a 35 start maiden. She’s had her chances. KIA ORA TATOU takes a bit of winding up and will likely be deep throughout. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – TRIBAL RULER WIN RACE 4 THREE SESSIONS is a winner. He’s won 8 from 17 and funnily enough he’s never run a minor placing. Kind of animal who either turns up at his absolute best and wins or just doesn’t quite turn up on the day. The fact that Barry Newnham has booked Troy Turner could be a sign that his star galloper is it and firing and ready to go. Nice race for him if he’s ready. LOVE DRUNK BABY was the target of strong money in the Tabtouch Regional Championship Final and finished only 1.5L off the winner. Suited to Geraldton racing. ISOLA BAY gets weight off with the ZJP claim and can come out running. BE SEATED is 1600 back to 1400 back to 1200m following the c70+ programming. Numbers: 3 – 8 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – THREE SESSIONS WIN RACE 5 POP THE MOET looks ready to win. Went around in a 58+ last start and was still there with 100m to go. This is much easier and importantly Troy Turner sticks. FIRST CONTACT got over them impressively in a C1 at Geraldton back on 18 November and then went back at Albany on a day where they struggled to make any ground. Back to Geraldton, blinkers on and looking for a three-deep cart into it. TYCOON DEMON is hard to fault. He won on debut beating a handy type in Sirius Storm and then backed it up with a second placing in a C1 at his very next outing. WOJTEK is fresh and Sean Rains’ gallopers go super first-up. Keep safe. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – POP THE MOET WIN RACE 6 MOCHA DREAM was scratched from Pinjarra on Wednesday to save for this. All three wins in his career have come at the Geraldton Turf Club and his last start effort at Ascot in a C3 behind Stormy Tawny has been proven strong form with that mare winning a 0MWLY at Bunbury and a 60+ Graduation at Ascot since. 40 days between runs the obvious query. SUN CHACEN always goes well around this grade in the country area. Great run behind Ex Sport Girl at Albany first-up and you’d argue that’s nearly the best form in the race. ALTERNO has been racing like he wants 1400 and he gets that here. MOONIEMIA gets some weight relief up in grade. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – MOCHA DREAM WIN RACE 7 BLUE CHEYENNE has been hitting the line well in 70+ grade and now drops back into a more suitable 58+. He’s drawn in barrier 2 to get a soft run and provided that Lisa Staples can find some clear running in the home straight then he should be going close at this level. Thought his last run behind Patchwork and Westozi was super. Right place, right time. AMARLIE MISS is a lightly raced filly who gives the indication she’ll be racing in better company than this later in her career. WHAT A PRINCE has an abundance of natural ability. He steps out to 1600m for only the third time in his life but he’s been running super races all campaign. COLOUR ME QUICK deserved the win last Saturday. Going super. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – BLUE CHEYENNE WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,8 1,2,3,4,6,7 1,2,4,5,7,10,11 1,2,9 Market Market
