Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on May 13, 2022May 16, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 DUSTY’S GOT TALENT went into a 3 year old 62+ 1000 on debut when finishing 7L off them, however, think about those that were in the race: Sneaky Chance (since 2nd in a 66+), Lexington City (since won a 3 year old Handicap) and Hardly Ever (since won a 3 year old Handicap). No surprise to see her run well at her second career outing over 1300m when third to My Boy Eddy and Let Them All Talk and now looks to have found a suitable maiden in Albany. Going well. ULTIMATE STYLE fought on well from on top of the speed last start in a metro maiden. GODGIVEMESTRENGTH was a big run in replay last start. BONAMICO kept on finding last start. Numbers: 6 – 7 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – DUSTY’S GOT TALENT WIN RACE 2 SALACIA QUEEN and STARRING KNIGHT both come through the same trial. SALACAIA QUEEN showed a bit leading into her initial campaign and was really well backed on debut ($14 into $4.40) but failed to really give a yelp. Her back to back fourth placings subsequently were solid and with the benefit of a spell she might be ready to show her best. STARRING KNIGHT is a well bred son of Shooting To Win and he has trialled up nicely for his return. Worth nothing that he went round under $5 on debut in a 2 year old SWP. JALINDA BAY looked the winner first-up but faded late and last start pushed a nice filly in Category Three to a length. SILVER SAX will likely jump and run. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SALACIA QUEEN WIN RACE 3 AMERICAN QUEEN finished second at Narrogin first-up with 60kg without a trial and now second up heads down to Albany and has a senior rider on. From the draw the mare can settle right up over the top of the speed and she should be going close second-up. Well suited to these country style races. LOVE DRUNK BABY had excuses two starts ago but was only fair last start. Regular rider and senior rider Joey Azzopardi back aboard so expecting him to bounce back. ORISTANO is ready to win one. Always needs a touch of luck in his races but is attacking the line. HOT TONIC next best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUEEN WIN RACE 4 PRINCE RAGNAR looked to have Cable Boy covered for the entire length of the straight last start but just failed to reel him in. Drawn barrier 1, starting to show a bit more versatility and should enjoy the run of the race from the inside gate. Think that 1200m stretches him but with an economical run he can prove hard to beat. Slowly but surely improving with racing. YANGTZE RAPIDS burst onto the scene in WA in July 2021 with a huge win at Northam with 60.5kg. Not much has gone his way since. Has ability but clearly has issues. CABLE BOY won well last start when showing some grit. Took a long while to win his second race but can hold form now. LADY TORNADO is not racing as well this campaign as she did last preparation. Still trying to work her out. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – PRINCE RAGNAR WIN RACE 5 LLESSUR is a versatile type of mare and Michael Lane seems to have found the key with her, putting her in these country ratings races and just poking around with her. This race has a stack of speed in it and Kyra Yuill has the option of just parking her in behind them and then saving her up for one run at them. Looks a nice set up for her. LITTLE PUNGA is flying. He might be back to 1200m but he’s racing in career best form. BILLY RAY was up to his old tricks last start. He’ll again go round shorter than his ability level. MORGS FREEMAN finally broke back into the winner’s circle last start when leading and controlling. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – LLESSUR WIN RACE 6 ZIP YOUR LIPS was first-up at 1600m after being used as a trial horse for Clint Johnston-Porter’s little brother Zephen and was plunged in betting. The money was astute because he travelled the winner throughout and then got right away from them in the home straight. Looks even better suited at 1900m than he was at a mile and from the similar draw and near identical map looks hard to beat again. WESTERN KING has weight to lump but his last four or five have all been good runs a big odds. Paul Hunter has him going really well. NATURAL SPICE and ART ADMIRER both won well last start and both are capable of figuring in the finish with the right runs. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – ZIP YOUR LIPS WIN RACE 7 CHOOSE TO CRUISE was massive at Narrogin three start back behind Blaiszen Cazah and subsequent winner The Hawkeye and then was held up on multiple occasions at crucial stages two starts ago in a C1 1800 at Ascot behind Big Swoop. Last start went to a C3 2200m and raced too keenly and was a bit out classed. Back to Albany and falling into a very evenly graded affair he could bob up at a price. PASSION PRINCE steps from 1100m to 1600m but is bred to get ground and certainly raced like he will need ground first-up. ROCK OF KAHA is going well, his last two have both been excellent. JULIETTE finds another new home. Earl O’Loughlin can improve these tried mares. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHOOSE TO CRUISE EACHWAY RACE 8 BLUE LINE has been a serious find for Sam Faithfull this season. Went to Ascot into a 3yo 0MWLY three starts ago and finished third behind Otheroneson and Harmika, then came back to Mt Barker and dominated them before again heading up the highway when second to Michelada. Kept fresh here over a month between runs and looks to have found another suitable assignment to finish a wonderful preparation. AWESOME CHATTER will be popular and understandably so with his overall race form. Recent trial was strong too. Logical danger. ATHLONE CASTLE is flying. Big win two starts after a peach of a ride and then last start did it awfully tough and was still there in the finish. Hard to fault him. SIR SNUGALOT is hard to place at his rating but like him with weight in these 58+ races. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 1 Suggested Bet – BLUE LINE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,4,5 1,2 1,3,6 2,3,5 Market Market
