Scott Embry’s Saturday Pinjarra Preview Posted on January 11, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RUBIC ROSE safely took care of a very similar sort of line up last start at Ascot. Always risky diving into an odds on 2 year old but she looks pretty smart. ANGEL JUPITER should take natural improvement from debut run and looked to have her fair share. EYE OF THE DAY has looked talented at trials and Paul Jordan produces some very good jump, run types. BUBAROOCHY has been the target of strong early support in markets, a positive sign. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – RUBIC ROSE WIN Race 2 THE BIG SHOW was scratched from last weekend’s Perth Cup with a foot abscess. Naturally concerning for those taking the odds on quote but in Darren McAuliffe we trust. He should lead and say goodbye on the corner. PRESS THE PETAL got within a length of him last start but may need to drag back from the gate. COLLABORATE belted moderate opposition but definitely looks progressive. NOT AGAIN KEN can pull a rabbit out of the hat from time to time. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE BIG SHOW WIN Race 3 EXCISE FREE won down the 1000m straight two starts ago in 57.52 which is one of the faster times recorded in the season. Then was unlucky when uncharacteristically slowly away in Saturday grade. If she jumps and finds the outside fence they’ll struggle to catch her. ESSENTIAL SPICE is a very handy 3 year old resuming. Recent trial alongside Mikimoto suggests that she will make the grade. THE FINEST was a nice trial and a nice debut run. STARES ANDWHISPERS could be a high cruising speed horse suited to straight racing. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 11 Suggested Bet – EXCISE FREE WIN Race 4 MARKET RULER is a filly taking on the older horses but after the 3 year old allowance and the claim for Kate Witten it looks on paper like the only thing that will beat her is the 1000m straight. If this was round a bend she would be deeper in the red. SEEKER has produced some barnstorming wins down the straight 5 course and goes well fresh. FIRE AND RAIN gets considerable weight swings on Market Ruler and is a nice colt. SHARPBOB has blinkers back on and an imposing course/distance record. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet – MARKET RULER WIN Race 5 SHACKLETON has been nothing short of stiff this campaign. Beaten a nose first-up and a half head last weekend when held up at crucial stages. If he can travel down the straight he looks the winner. NIGHT VOYAGE has a big weight to lump but his form last preparation was far superior to rivals. CAPTAIN STIRLING has an abundance of speed which he looks likely to use early to come across. BETA DUGUID is a brilliant story of patience. After 1334 days you just want to see him get round safely. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – SHACKLETON WIN Race 6 ONE SHORT drops from a quality 72+ back to a 66+ and draws a gate in a race without a lot of speed. The form of his most recent run behind Double Digit, Mrs Browns Boy and Reveille looks brilliant for a race of this nature. DANEFIN continues to savage the line. If he can settle leader’s back and get the right splits he’s the danger. TRULY BELONG is a fairly luckless mare who finds ways to get beat. But her most recent run was strong. BELLA’S IDOL can run a cheeky race fresh. Numbers: 1 – 13 – 10 – 5 Suggested Bet – ONE SHORT WIN Race 7 OUR FINEST MOMENT showed glimpses of getting back towards some of his better form last start. The step up to 1400m is ideal and on the minimum in an awkward race he can prove the value. WRINKLY will have to cross Corporate Larrikin early but he should do so and is best suited rolling them along. VITAL SILVER is drawn perfectly to sit right behind a hot speed and no doubt he is progressive. PINZU was a nice enough run in the AJ Scahill and prior to that a Listed winner fresh. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – OUR FINEST MOMENT EACHWAY Race 8 SALLY’S REALM drops out of the fillies and mares series into a 62+ graduation and drops in weight care of the set weights and penalties conditions of the Listed features. She has been racing without luck and if she can wind up three deep will fly late. DISTANT TRILOGY has been promising to win a second race for 6 months. If he leads he’s the one to beat. WILD FUSION was good enough last start to turn the tables and should land a prominent position in running. PADDY’S SHADOW gets the run of the race either leader’s back or three back the fence. Numbers: 14 – 7 – 8 – 10 Suggested Bet – SALLY’S REALM WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,5,6,7,9,11,12,14 1,10,13 1,2,4,11 7,8,10,14 Market Market
