PRIVATE SAPLING had the wonderful Hide The Oreos form from four starts back and three starts back but then was no match for Street Maschino and was beaten a long way last start. May have had enough? NOBEL KNIGHT was scratched on 30 June failing to load. Hopefully he goes in safely. HAWK has improved throughout his prep. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PUSHOVER WIN RACE 2 CHEDDAR BOB and SABINO both raced on Tuesday in the same race behind the very well supported Fries With That. Thinking that they’re they pair to beat here on the 4 day spin and with the blinkers going back on CHEDDAR BOB thinking that they will look to lead and that could be the difference. SABINO put in his best run on dirt so far and provided he runs out a 1600 he’s the big danger. DEAL OBTAINED drops 2.5kg and he’ll keep punching at them late. KENTUCKY DREAM next best. Back into maiden company, backing up off 4 days, Jess Gray on, there’s a bit to like in what is a very thin maiden event. SHINBONER ran wel at Port Hedland at his first start in WA and Col Haddon calls on the services of leading rider Tash Faithfull which takes the attention. TOPAZ raced on Tuesday in a 58+ and ran out of her skin behind Trisuem. Can win. BOUTIQUE SESSION is getting closer. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – KING OF FRANCE WIN RACE 4 STREET MASCHINO has turned a corner and thinking drawn out rather than in is actually a good thing for him. Had to make a searching run last start and was still too good. Drops 3.5kg off that and can measure up here. MONEY FOR OLD ROPE was $7 into $3.20 on Tuesday and powered away for a very soft victory. That was (no joke) his 34th run of the preparation. He has raced without a spell for well over 12 months now and continues to race at the peak of his powers. The quick back-up won’t worry him and he actually drops in grade here. ONE ABOVE ALL has won his last three in a breakout season for horse and trainer. HERE MY PRAYER next best. He never got any peace and at any stage and actually did a good job to loom the winner on straightening, especially considering he was suspect at the distance. 1650m back to 1200 – like, off 4 days – love. Really like this set up for him and think he can lead them throughout. BOURBON BEAU brings alternate form to most of these. He ran second in a 58+ behind Red Rebel two starts ago and if he can reproduce that effort he’s the one to beat. JUST FOR MARCUS kept coming on Tuesday. MASTER BUDDHA is going really well. He finished second behind Espirto in a race where they’ve stopped the clock a whopping 7.5L faster than Sprint average. They were humming from start to finish and he sustained a big run. Has to carry 64.5kg here. That’s a huge ask but he’s the class runner. RED REBEL has finished in the top 2 at all 5 runs this season. He’s got the speed to burn across. JACKEMJAMES brings Port Hedland form to Broome. Hard to line it up. LUCKY LANDING one to keep safe at odds. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – NO CHANGE WIN RACE 7 AWESOME CHATTER is looking to complete the Roebourne – Port Hedland – Broome Cup treble and the way he’s going he has to be given a lot of respect. In the Port Hedland Cup it was on from the get-go. The first 1600m was run 11.5L faster than average and he was still able to safely fend them off with 58kg. He is right in this. VEVINSKY was about as arrogant a win in the Cable Beach Caravan Cup as you’ll see. He marched around them, poured the pressure on and simply outstayed them. Looking to complete the Derby – Cable Beach Caravan Park – Broome Cup treble. OMBUDSMAN is peaking at the right time. HIDE THE OREOS a real X-Factor but will he stay? Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 12 Suggested Bet – AWESOME CHATTER WIN RACE 8 LUTZ won well over 2020m in a 50+ (this exact same track/distance/grade) two starts back and then was unable to measure up to them in the Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup. This is not a deep race and he can bounce back to his best. CAMPFIRE JACK is still a maiden, however, he ran second behind Hide The Oreos last start and that galloper heads to the Cup! COUNT GRUNDY has been there abouts since lobbing up north with Anthony Barton. WHAT SHOUT is a career maiden mare. This is their chance to lead and break them open. Now (or more likely) never.
