Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on September 26, 2019September 27, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VALIDATION is speedy and should take full advantage of the good draw. Either leads or box seats just behind them and both the first-up run and the mid-prep trial have been good. ZIP ZAP ZOOM was huge on debut as a 2 year old coming from the clouds with a big run to only go down a half-length. Followed it up again at his second outing bombing the start and running an eye catcher. BEE QUICK comes from the same Lark Hill trial and was just as good. LOOKS LIKE MAGIC next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – VALIDATION WIN Race 2 SENTIMENTAL GIFT will concede the leaders a big head start but her debut performance was impressive and she has blinkers added for the first time. Warm-up trials good enough and meets a moderate field. PRIZED NEMESIS was big first-up after a quality trial but then was only plugging away last weekend. On the quick back-up, shades back on and an in-form hoop aboard. SUBLIME IMAGE doesn’t seem to race overly generously, she’ll be niggled at the entire but keeps coming. SNOW BAMBOO resumes and ran some good races last campaign. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – SENTIMENTAL GIFT WIN Race 3 RIO DEL MAR wouldn’t go straight first-up for Chloe Azzopardi and was ultimately unable to reel in the speedy Some Sort. Gets a 1.5kg weight swing on that galloper and Pike into the saddle. Looks set to turn the tables. Travels in the run, has a turn of foot, Pike is a big engagement. RED CAN MAN only comes from a lowly Northam maiden but his win was authoritative and he looks to have plenty of upside. SOME SORT is racing extremely well and will lead them for a long, long way. NICCOVI gets every chance from the draw. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – RIO DEL MAR WIN Race 4 BUNKER BUSTER is likely headed toward next Saturday’s Kalgoorlie Cup and he is going from strength to strength for the Durrant stable. Was able to let down over the top of Too Close The Sun last time out and gets a 0.5kg weight swing in his favour for beating him. Has a turn of foot which will see him win plenty more. TOO CLOSE THE SUN is the logical danger and races for a third time in a fortnight. His half brother Trap for Fools thrived off that pattern. UNCLE LINO can lead and give cheek. DEFIANTLY next best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BUNKER BUSTER WIN Race 5 COCKNEY CREW only won a 60+ graduation last start but he romped in winning by over 8 lengths on the day and almost 5L above benchmark. Leaders who can roll over the mile and clock those kinds of sections win more races than they lose and if he can reproduce, he’ll take serious catching. If he opens in the black he jumps in the red. DOUBLE DOGIT always runs well when he can find cover and should get that from the gate. WESTERN TEMPLE had every chance and was no match for Friar Fox but can turn the tables with a soft run. FRIAR FOX is a nice mare with a sharp sprint. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – COCKNEY CREW WIN Race 6 HYPERSPACE should get the tow ball run behind Beaucount throughout and his effort last start chasing Cockney Crew was strong. He should get every opportunity to run a race in a wide open event. KING OF JUDAH looks like he has been a bit of a work in progress for Summer Dickson but is finally start to show some of the glimpses of ability from his early days. KIA ORA STAR finds it very hard to win races but all of his runs this preparation have been good enough. BEAUCOUNT pulled himself into the ground last week. Off 7, back to a mile, don’t give up on the great man. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – HYPERSPACE EACHWAY Race 7 MASQUERADE should get a nice run midfield with cover and in a high speed 1000m race will be doing his best work late. Caught the eye last start and can improve again third up. MOLTEN trucked into the race like the winner first-up no trial and was left wanting late. He should take great benefit from that. TAMASA is the interesting runner dropping back in trip, blinkers on first time and Pike on first time. Big eye catching changes on paper. MANTIME only knows one way and is best ridden with the handlebars down. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – MASQUERADE EACHWAY Race 8 ACHERNAR STAR never runs a bad race, flies fresh and should get across early into a nice position midfield with cover even through drawn a little sticky on paper. If he gets in early he’s right in this up to his neck and very well weighted in the Set Weights and Penalties conditions. MAN BOOKER draws poorly but is all class and well placed by a stable hitting form. SAMIZDAT and LADY COSMOLOGY are the up and coming 4 year olds with huge upside and massive followings. M82 and M83 raters respectively who are thrown in the deep end and concede crazy weight advantages to rivals but both are genuine top liners in the making. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – ACHERNAR STAR EACHWAY Race 9 RECHARGER has been going well all preparation and finds a nice evenly graded affair to come out running and give cheek. This field should jump $5.50 eachway the field and if Stent finds the breeze he’ll give his usual kick on the corner. UNIBRO was arguably a good thing beat last start. Is one of many 1000m types stepping to 1200 which is always a slight query. FORK HANDLES box seats and gets it soft and is ever consistent. BEL MY PAGO has a booming turn of foot and will be saved for one crack at them. Numbers: 11- 7 – 9 – 6 Suggested Bet – RECHARGER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 4,5,8,9 2,3,4,5,8 2,3,4,7,8 5,6,7,8,9,10,11 Market Market
