Scott Embry’s Saturday Belmont Preview Posted on June 27, 2024July 19, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ELITE MISSILE comes back in distance from a first-up 1400 win to a second-up assignment over 1200m, that and the fact he rises 2kg to 58kg are the only minor queries against him. He looks a smart 2 year old and trusting SJ Miller and Brad Parnham to navigate their way successfully through those obstacles here. This is not a deep 2 year old race and he looks above average. NOAHQUINTILLY was backed heavily in that same event. Back to 1200m looks suitable for her and should she take up the running again she’ll be in front for a long way. SPANGLEDSTAR was a great run behind Supido Express and Zippy Zany and can turn the tables without surprising. ROCKIN’ ROBIN gets a gun run. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – ELITE MISSILE WIN RACE 2 DANCE BOSS is an emerging talent from the Simon Miller yard. He’s only had 8 starts and has finished in the top 2 at 6 of them, including last start when he was beaten on the post by Celebrity Prince. He covered more ground than Celebrity Prince, ran a faster L600 than Celebrity Prince and now meets him 1.5kg better at the weights stepping to 1400m. Love this set up for him on the minimum. INVESTMENT STRATEGY never trials well – to the point where you’re nearly better off not watching them. Trust his race form. MULTINATIONAL is a 2x winner off 7 days and works across into a spot. SAPPHIRE STREET is really well placed here. Numbers: 7 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – DANCE BOSS WIN RACE 3 MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE has the profile of a horse who can rocket through his grades and this is a really nice stepping stone for him on the way through. Broke his maiden stopping the clock 6.5L faster than average and backed it up on a ‘fence off’ day at Belmont Park in a time 3L faster than C1 average. Was the only leader on the program to go any good and did it in dominant fashion. Drops 2.5kg and can bully his way to the top again. Nice horse. ANOTHER STRIKE is a more than capable 3 year old but will concede him both weight and a head start. KING CARTEL comes through the Sentimental Belle / Pearly Nugget race which has held up as a form reference. SENTIMENTAL BELLE put it all together last start. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – MY HIDDEN UNIVERSE WIN RACE 4 BAYEZID should be too quick for them again. He’s up to 60.5kg here but over the 1000m at Belmont Park the leaders are kicking hard into the corner and those who are caught deep are being speared off the bend by those drawn underneath them. Big advantage to be on speed and looks a very similar set up for him to his first-up jump, lead, kick and win scenario. CAPRE OMNIA can settle a pair closer here and with an extra 1.5kg weight pull should bring him closer to Bayezid. Did beat home Lost Gravity the start prior. LOST GRAVITY has been better and better deeper into the campaign. UNIVERSAL PLAYBOY a watch for the new yard. Anthony Barton goes at 17%. Elite areas. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – BAYEZID WIN RACE 5 OBJECTIFY is a sharp filly on the rise and looks like she’ll take serious beating here. She’s drawn to stalk the hot speed set by Prospector’s Pick and Our Rocky Bay and the way she travelled last start suggests that she’ll look to keep them within her sights and then unleash in the home straight. Have a lot of time for her. PROSPECTOR’S PICK is only coming out of a maiden but he thumped them, he ran time and he looks like he’ll only get better with racing. OUR ROCKY BAY has returned in outstanding order. LOST CITY was ridden quiet last start and was eye catching from a mile off them. Numbers: 5 – 10 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – OBJECTIFY WIN RACE 6 KISSES FROM KELLY was backed as if unbeatable last start at Belmont Park and the punters got it spot on. From the 800 there was only one horse you wanted to be on in the run and this race looks to map in a near identical manner. Arnray and Tallangatta will roll along throughout and CJP can have Kisses From Kelly poised and ready to strike from just behind the speed. Gets the run of the race and looks a handy stayer in the making. TALLANGATTA drops out of 66+ Grade, backs up off 7 days and parks up on speed. He’s the logical danger. FLASH DUCATI is an honest campaigner and tried hard behind Kisses From Kelly. GOD’S GARDEN has turned a corner and is back to her best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 13 Suggested Bet – KISSES FROM KELLY WIN RACE 7 SPECIAL SORT should be ready third-up from a spell. For a Westspeed Platinum horse he’s got a brilliant strike rate as the winner of 5 from 15 and he has been building nicely towards this $100,000 Final. Found the line over an unsuitable 1200 fresh, took on far better quality opponents second-up over 1400 (Celebrity Prince / Dance Boss / Chollima and Co) and should be peaking here. Soft draw and ready to win. EL PATRON runs for Luke Campbell. He was enormous last start when nabbed on the line after doing a mountain of work. He can win. BIRD’S THE WORD will park on speed and whack away. GINGER GREEN has a big weight to lump but Paul Harvey’s booking catches the attention. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SPECIAL SORT EACHWAY RACE 8 COUNT THE SESSIONS has been going well for months and continually goes around at a juicy price. Two starts back he finished second to Falcon Trader (meets him 2kg better) and last start he was ducking and weaving a passage through traffic while others had momentum. Gets back out to a mile, CJP returns to the saddle (4/7 wins) and in an open and even event he’s going to go round double figures. Not out of it. ANTIQUE MISS destroyed them last start but she also enjoyed the run of the race from barrier 9 after Luke Campbell pulled out a 12/10 ride. Will need to do it again from another shocking draw. FALCON TRADER is on the 7-day back-up after being run down in a 72+ last weekend. CHOLLIMA was stiff last start. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – COUNT THE SESSIONS EACHWAY RACE 9 JUSTABITTAPRESS gets one more go in what looks a winnable 66+ 1200. He was a shade disappointing last start in a 3 year old 1200 but when you consider that race contained the likes of Objectify, Lost City, Our Rocky Bay you could well make the case that this line-up is no deeper and he drops 1kg and maps to get every chance. Learn a lot about him here. ROCKIN’ RUPERT was brilliantly placed last start and burst through for an emphatic victory. Could end up in an ugly spot in a race without any genuine speed. VAMPI AT PLAY got a squeeze at the 250 last start and came again late. STARRING KNIGHT trialled up well for his return. Numbers: 14 – 1 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – JUSTABITTAPRESS EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3 1,2,4,5,6,7,11,12 1,2,3,5,6,9,12 1,14 Market Market
