Scott Embry’s Friday Carnarvon Preview Posted on June 12, 2025June 12, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MOORUMBINE loves running second – he’s done it 14 times across his 51 start career and at each run this preparation at Carnarvon, but going to be brave and put him on top. Three deep the trip and nosed out at the opening meeting and then ran into a flying Dirty Chai last start. Out to 1400m and happy to follow the Dirty Chai form as the best formline. WUHAN WARRIOR is through that same race and while he’s racing below his best maybe he is wanting further later in his career. KENTUCKY BLUE has the speed to get across and is consistent. WHO’S YOUR MAMA will keep building. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MOORUMBINE WIN RACE 2 MONTY ZOOMER really does paddle in his last 100m. He did it at his first-up Carnarvon run when he fell in and he did it again last start when Grece Lightning nabbed him in the shadows. He’s 56+ back to C3, he’s going to lead them again but under the 61kg it could be nervous times over the concluding stages. ORTUM KRISP got the closest to Southern Scandal last time out and regardless of beaten margins – that’s good form. DREAM ILLUSION and LE TROY both broke their maidens like horses who could work their way through the lower grades on the dirt. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MONTY ZOOMER WIN RACE 3 MYSTERY MINUTE finished second to Dream Illusion at his first start on the dirt and then finished second to Le Troy at his second start on the dirt. He’s knocking on the door, he’ll just get better and better on the dirt and from the inside draw expecting that Kate Pateman looks to hold up and take luck out of the equation. CASINO ROYALE had his first start on the dirt and was pretty good considering he drew barrier 1 and got crossed. Love them drawn off fence at their second dirt run. BATTLE ON BATTLER should be a nice Carnarvon maiden, just may want 1400. BATTER UP a watch at her first run for new trainer Graeme Hammarquist. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 1 – 10 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY MINUTE WIN RACE 4 EXPOROSE looks Tash Faithfull’s first winning chance on paper as she makes a Friday trip up to ‘The Narv’. Won a C1 at Pinjarra and a pair of 52+ races at York before heading to a Westspeed Platnium when running into the likes of My Hidden Universe, Masamune and Wicked Venom. This is far easier and if she can find the front (surely?) she’ll be hard to run down on the dirt. FIRST CONTACT finished second to Southern Scandal and considering the ridiculous times he’s running it’s best to forget the beaten margins. AND THEN WHAT has a senior and shades on. Like both. WISE WORDS is always thereabouts. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – EXPOROSE WIN RACE 5 GRECE LIGHTNING only got going in the last 150m last start to gun down tiring leader Monty Zoomer in the shadows of the post. Another furlong to wind up is only to his advantage and he seemed to respond to ZJP throwing the kitchen sink at him. SPANISH KAT gets to a distance range where he should have enough early speed to lead. That brings him right into the mix. AWESOME LILY and IRONCLAD BOY are both certainly racing like the 1600m won’t worry them. The only issue is that both tend to get back in their races. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 7 – 4 Suggested Bet – GRECE LIGHTNING WIN RACE 6 TALKING HEADS was some win last start. You don’t see many at all dart back towards the inside fence and burst through for victory at Carnarvon. Really impressive win and after the 3kg claim for Sharni Webster he looks hard to beat again. GENERAL KNOWLEDGE (like stablemate Moorumbine) has started his Carnarvon prep with back to back minor placings. He’ll pinch one soon. CHEEKY CHARLOTTE is rapid when they let her run. Given she’s facing the dirt for the first time you’d think that Kyra Yuill will put the foot down early. PRIMATIVE was a big improver last start after leading. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – TALKING HEADS WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 4,5 4,9 3,4,5,7 1,2,5 Market Market
