Scott Embry’s Friday Broome Preview Posted on July 25, 2024July 25, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SQUILLIONAIRE is a last start winner (beating Ginger Jones) this track/distance/grade. She’s obviously had a set back as she comes into this 7 weeks between runs but she’s always raced well on the fresh side (2x winner off 28 days) and she has the speed to cross. ACEFIRE was brilliant first-up beating subsequent winners Red Rebel and Roey Clam. Second-up was never in the hunt. Forgive and forget. GINGER JONES took the inside runs last start and pulled clear for an effortless win. DASHING IMAGE is a sneaky if leading. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – SQUILLIONAIRE WIN RACE 2 FLOAT OUR BOAT looks to have found his most winnable race of the preparation. In his two runs at Broome he has finished fourth behind Artie’s Comet and subsequent winners Vevinsky and Let’s Sea and then third behind Let’s Sea and Artie’s Comet. Was beaten out of sight last week in the Derby Cup but this looks a race where Peter Farrell will be able to lead and control. From there he’s hard to beat. HERE MY PRAYER steps out to the staying trips. He’s got excellent consistent form but will he stay? LUTZ is a proven staying commodity. Keep safe. WHAT SHOUT would need to lead to cause the boilover. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – FLOAT OUR BOAT WIN RACE 3 PRIVATE SAPLING and STREET MASCHINO both come through the Hide The Oreos races which were run 6.2L and 4.8L faster than average. That’s the form to follow and thinking that back to 1435m it’s PRIVATE SAPLING who is the best suited, especially if Kyra Yuill can work her way to the top. STREET MASCHINO is going super and deserves to win one this preparation. SAMARIA has been a bit disappointing and hasn’t really jumped or travelled at any stage. CAMPFIRE JACK next best. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – PRIVATE SAPLING WIN RACE 4 THERMOSPHERE LAD gave Cooper Casey his first winner. No reason why he can’t go back to back but he’s likely to have to punch forward out deep throughout. This is not a deep race and provided he can stay out of trouble and sustain a run think he’ll go well again. DEMERITS PRIDE was well found in betting last start and ran alright behind Lo Lo Lonhro. UNO a watch coming back in distance here. CHARMING BELLE tends to get back and that’s a concern for her dirt career. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – THERMOSPHERE LAD WIN RACE 5 HIDE THE OREOS is emerging quickly through his grades and running ridiculous times. This is no doubt harder for him but the way he’s won his last two suggests he’ll measure up in a 58+. ROEY CLAM will still get out over further but has returned in excellent order for Cathy Godden. MOSQUITO is improving start to start and has been caught deep throughout at both runs in the region. MR MT WALKER heads to Broome for his first outing. Blinkers on and will need to be ridden for speed to avoid a face full of kickback. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – HIDE THE OREOS WIN RACE 6 DEMITO won three races on the bounce last preparation for Anthony Barton and Simone Altieri. Albany C2 over 1100, Narrogin 52+ over 1100 and Albany 58+ over 1100m. They were all soft wins and most importantly they were all on speed type wins. Ridden aggressively throughout think she’ll take beating at her first start in Broome. DISCO DONUT has found his feet on the dirt now and has run very well at his last three including running second to dirt superstar Dark City last week in Derby. SIOUX CITY is quick and can be ridden for speed from out deep. BIN SHALAA tried hard at Derby last week too albeit in a weaker race. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – DEMITO WIN RACE 7 NO CHANGE, TINSNIP and ROGOUE’S POINT are likely to contest the speed and then LET’S SEA and ARTIE’S COMET will be the chasing brigade. They look the five main players in the 2024 Cable Beach Caravan Park Cup. Given what ROGUE’S POINT produced last season he’s the starting point for mine. Won 4 races in a row and was demolishing them with sustained speed. Second-up straight to 1800 is the unknown. NO CHANGE ran them into the ground at his first start in Broome then missed the kick second-up. TINSNIP took advantage of that and romped home in the same race. LET’S SEA is loving dirt racing and drops 5kg. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROGUE’S POINT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5 5,6 2,4,5 1,2,3,6 Market Market
