Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on August 25, 2017 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday 25th August 2017 Race 7 – No. 1 Gold Reserve Big effort when returning to the track last week, overcoming early bother to get up by a nostril after giving Cobra Clutch a big head start. Posted a PB of 27.29 when last seen here in red and he looks hard to beat again. Race 8 – No. 2 Ouchamp SuperPick (Win Boost) Had no luck last week from the opposite side of the boxes when getting involved in a bumping duel throughout with Canute’s Law. Drawn to find the lead without much fuss tonight and should be able to make amends. Race 11 – No. 1 Charlie Boy Has improved with each run back from a spell and should be ready to fire from a draw where he’s won 3 from 5 so far. He performed well in tougher than this prior to a spell and his last run suggests he’s now ready to break back into the winner’s circle. Button Cannington Saturday 26th August 2017 Race 2 – No. 2 Bushman’s Luck Bred to appreciate these sorts of distances and he showed it last week when relishing the step up to the 600m, going down by a head after racing prominently throughout. Will only improve on that run and has drawn to be in this for a long way again. Race 4 – No. 2 Mendoza Monelli No surprise to see him winning his heat last week from this very draw in a BON 29.63 but it did surprise to see him lead all the way in doing so. Getting faster with each run back from a spell and there’s no reason why he can’t improve again here. Race 10 – No. 7 Weedle Monelli SuperPick – Money Back, Run 2nd. She has been in top form over this distance in easier Provincial company. She has plenty of early toe and doesn’t mind a wide draw so expect her to be in this for a long way at a decent Each Way price. QUADDIE (Race 5 to 8): 2, 4 / 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 / 1, 5 / 2, 4, 5. $50 for 83.33% TRIFECTA – Race 5 2, 4 / Field / Field. $30 for 20.83% FIRST FOUR – Race 4 2 / 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 / 1, 3, 5, 6, 7 / 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8. $50 for 50%.
