Michael Heaton’s Saturday Esperance Preview Posted on November 23, 2023November 23, 2023 | Posted by Michael Heaton RACE 1 LET IT GO RUPERT joins the powerful yard of Josh Brown which by all reports has taken over the Bay of Isles. He trialled up very nicely behind Saturday winner Ginnivan prior to starting a $5.50 chance on a Heavy8 track at his one and only race start in July and his recent trial behind subsequent winners Sonoftheboss and Rocket Juice was good enough to prove very hard to beat in this. EBONY’S ACE is a 16-start maiden but she ran some good races at Kalgoorlie through the winter and can find the front if they desire. LOST SMILE’S best performances have all come at Esperance and he has an ideal draw. PARADISE STAR can play a part at her first start for Helen Harding’s stable if she’s on her best behaviour. Numbers: 11 – 5 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – LET IT GO RUPERT WIN RACE 2 BONDI BUBBLES was beaten a nose at Northam 3 starts back and less than 2L last start. He not only finds an easier assignment here but also drops 3kg to a luxurious 54kg after ZJP’s claim. Brilliant placement for a horse who finished second to Deamber (beating home Malkar Pindari) earlier this prep. NOBLE INFLUENCE is another ex-Daly/Casey horse who joins Team Brown. This is lengths easier than the city assignments he has contested to date. SPAGHETTI appears to have had interrupted preparations over the past 6 months but has shown glimpses throughout his career. TRUE CHANCE has his first start for Gary Burger and Lisa Staples who are typically a force in Esperance. Numbers: 11 – 12 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – BONDI BUBBLES WIN RACE 3 MASTER ALEX’S form jumps off the page and he looks another great chance for ZJP & David Harrison. 3rd in a Northam C5 3 starts back, 4th to Wango Award, Paris Calling and Highest Award in an Ascot C3 2 starts back and 2nd to subsequent 66+ winner Yonga Lass in a Northam C3 last start. Should take a power of beating in an Esperance C2. SATURDAY SINNER ran well behind subsequent metro midweek winner Baalbek at Kalgoorlie last start and should be able to enjoy a gun run. UNCOMPROMISED is a former Peters Investments-owned galloper whose form this last year would see him start odds-on in a race like this but his last prep was poor. TALKABOUTYOU will need luck from an awkward alley. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – MASTER ALEX WIN RACE 4 CHAROAL CHAOS is an honest enough mare for this grade and should make a handy acquisition for Gary Burger. Her racing style should suit the Esperance circuit and her best form should see her play a part in an open contest. MR SNIPS is a lightly-raced 4YO who showed good ability at Kalgoorlie through the winter. He won first up last prep and will get every chance close to the speed. BELLE’S FANTASY is another who resumes and she ran second to On The Full first up last prep before being beaten only 2.5L by Desert Nymph at her last appearance in August. DAWN AMNESTY will likely be spotting them a big margin turning for home but she’s capable off reeling off enormous late splits and Rosie Mahoney has won aboard her previously. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CHACOAL CHAOS EACH-WAY RACE 5 AL QUEPONE is a different horse at Esperance. He’s undefeated from 3 starts at the track, meets Noble Reflection on the same weight terms from when he beat him by more than 2L in the Esperance Sprint back in March and his draw should allow him to have a horse or two behind him in the run. NOBLE REFLECTION flies first up (6: 2-0-3) and was a winner at this track, grade and distance with 60kg in this very race 12 months ago so the 60.5kg isn’t a concern. LEADING MAN can work across to settle on-speed and rarely runs a bad race. NODUSTONME has been good at his last 2 starts and with a 6-6.5kg pull on the first 2 fancies he could sneak under the radar at odds. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – AL QUEPONE WIN RACE 6 BLAZING PASSION bolted in by over 2L first up on Opening Day 12 months ago and went on to have a brilliant campaign (5: 3-1-0). She’s a versatile mare who can settle wherever Lisa Staples wants her to so the awkward draw isn’t a major concern. ENTICING is a genuine wet tracker but Esperance is probably the best surface he could see in the summer time and he’s brilliantly placed in this company. He’s a Saturday Graduation winner who has raced at Saturday level at 11 of his past 13 starts. There wasn’t much between FRANKIE BLUE EYES and MY BOY CHRIS when they ran a quinella last season. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – BLAZING PASSION WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,5 1,2,4,6,9,10 1,2,3 2,3,4,6 Market Market
