Harry Buchanan’s Wednesday Greyhound Best Bets

MANDURAH

Race 2 No. 7 Tilly Rose and No. 6 Corey Keeping

A couple coming out of the maiden heats. The 7 is perfectly drawn and she can sweep up here and put herself into the race quickly. Goes close if she is there turning. The 6 could find the arm first however and he ran the time in his qualy that won’t see him easily caught here. Both strong hopes.

Race 3 No. 4 Zipping Luik and No. 7 Speed Cheller

Another few from the maiden heats who had no luck. The 4 needs room to operate and she mucks around a bit but she has the ability to score with clear running. Take on trust. The 7 goes better than the form looks and the start will determine his chances. If he can get into a striking spot he will descend late to hit the frame.

Race 4 No. 1 Lukes Coal

Boxed to give this a huge shake. Just needs his best step and he can muster up early and lead here. There is no catching him if he does hold the arm. Even settling close will see him hard to hold out in this company.

Race 5 No. 8 Chuck A Party, No. 6 Premium Star and No. 1 Gouda Monelli

The Winter Maiden Classic Final. Some nice young types lining up here and it’s a competitive final. The 8 was superb in his heat and I think the box will do him a stack of favours. Stayed off the fence but has a lovely fluent stride that looks suited to some space. Could sweep into this very quickly and early. The 6 was great in his heat and should have won. Missed the photo after copping a little brush crossing then making a poor choice turning by staying in momentarily only to then go outside to launch. He’s possibly the fastest dog in this race but box is tricky. If he offsets early he’s a threat. The 1 was a massive win in his heat. Rounded them up with ease off a slow start only to sustain the run and charge away late. Box may not be ideal off that but if he holds up early and he can with the speedy beginner in box 2, he will take some stopping late here. Chances to 7 and maybe 4 if she crosses the 2.

8-6-1 for the Maiden Classic

Race 6 No. 6 Spooky Hook

Best dog in the race resuming. Only has to bring his A game and he’s too good for these. Don’t want to take anything silly in the odds department but anything better than evens is a play. If he’s right he wins.

Race 7 – cheering on No. 8 Henry Keeping

Grand veteran who is having his final start tonight. Up against it off the draw but a tremendous campaigner whose career comes to a close here.

Race 9 No. 8 Cosmic Overseer

Well boxed again and just needs to show a little more early interest and he’s a force. Can put himself up there and runs good time when he sees the arm and he gets that chance here off a good map. No excuses this week.

Race 10 No. 1 Oh Yeah Alright

Speaking of maps, this bloke gets an all timer here. With two very wide runners directly outside him, especially the 3, he gets every possible hope to muster straight to the arm and he usually isn’t for catching in this company. Boxed to win, just needs to step.

Race 11 No. 5 Big Rodney

Has a bit on these on the clock and the small field certainly suits. Can take some time through the middle section to get fully wound up but any sort of clear running should see him score. Looks the one.
