Harry Buchanan’s Thursday Greyhound Tips

MANDURAH

Race 3 No. 2 Princess Emmy and No. 1 Clifton Iyla

The 2 gets a good draw here and can surprise. She is a little underrated. Expected better from the red last start and she can do more here. Watch for her along the fence late.

Race 5 No. 2 Prime of Life and No. 5 Tangled Web

The 2 is airborne and the only thing against him is his need to wait for the fence during the run. It can be costly but he should go close. The 5 can surprise here and if she stepped she would give a big sight. Can go well and gets a save.

Race 8 No. 8 Vanda Chester

Well he’s got his box. Nothing surer there. He needs to use it with some early speed and can rush around these if he steps well. Hard to catch if he is close turning. Great value.

Race 9 No. 4 Big Flash Unit

Really disappointed last time and walked out. He’s that hot and cold it’s hard to know which day is his day. His best beats these however and the price means we have a little go again. Must do better here. Can hit the podium.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 3 No. 7 Under Arrest

Gee he’s a funny dog. Weather he gets the trip or not depends on momentum. When it’s stopped he doesn’t put in. When he’s out and rolling though, he can reel off big sections. Time to see if he has his mothers staying prowess to any degree being out of the mighty Sweet it is. He is bred to stay. Needs to show it here.

Race 6 No. 6 Ailee Bale and No. 7 Golden Quest

A couple at good odds here that shouldn’t be. If this 6 spears out and leads, it will take some effort to run her down. Can run time on the arm. As can the 7 who has strength as well being a staying type with early burn. Save there. Both look to give sights here and can rush across early.

Race 8 No. 1 Modern Collinda and No. 3 He’s No Slouch

The 1 wins if he gets a clear run. In superb form and is still priced to play. He can take a little to muster but has sustained sections after that. The 3 is a better dog here at Sandown and do not dismiss him. He’s put in some huge runs before and can stun again. Great EW play for him as well.

ANGLE PARK

Race 4 No. 7 My Mate Snow

Well that was diabolical last week. Never ever looked like getting into it nor did he even look interested. Sadly, that’s the sign of an enigmatic but very good dog. He’s just as likely to come out here and give these a drubbing. His form suggests some pattern with a run like last week so we will give him one last chance to produce. His best beats this fav I have no doubt. He is priced to hit top 2 so let’s see if he turns up.

Race 7 No. 1 Dutch Impact

He will go well here. His best VIC form puts these to bed and comfortably and he has shown he is ready with two solid efforts so far over in SA. Strong, well drawn here and can win. EW price to play as well.

ALBION PARK

Race 3 No. 6 Days Of Thunder

Knows this track inside out and backwards. Her familiar get back run home style works here and these will simply need to look over their shoulders. When she starts that run up the back the 2nd time, it takes A LOT of stopping if she gets clear running. Will hit the podium if they leave her alone.

Race 6 No. 4 Springtime Jet

Has taken another step up lately. His early speed and overall sections have seen him hard to catch and this will be much the same. Heads to the fence quickly but when he’s on the arm they will need 29.70 or better to catch him. Great show.

Race 8 No. 8 Respectability

He’s fast. Very fast. Does his best work on the arm and when he gets it by the first turn he runs sections that are impossible to catch. 29.5 dog who can burn the clock to ash. Box is ok and will go quickly when the lids go up. If he crosses, it’s check and mate. Start everything here but looks the one.
