Harry Buchanan’s Friday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on May 17, 2024May 17, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch MANDURAH Race 1 No. 3 Bling it Black Takes his time to wind up and looking for more ground but the small field and race experience in tougher races puts him in good stead here. Only has to be remotely close turning and he will be hard to stop. Race 2 No. 5 Wild Ollie The arm is where he does his best and he will make a fast charge for that here. Racing well around this circuit and looks the leader in this last section dominated affair. He won’t give in easily if he leads turning. Race 3 No. 7 Taming the Tiger and No. 8 Figs Magee The 7 is stepping well and racing just as well. Puts herself in the race quickly and that will apply here again. She will hit the frame with any luck. The 8 is well boxed and while he needs to lead and the last bit can test, he will give a sight and might get away here with a clean getaway. Keep him safe. Race 4 No. 1 Big Rodney and No. 3 Trunkey Jennings The 1 just needs to hold up early into the back. Won well here track and trip last time he went around this circuit and will be hard to stop in this if he uses the draw. The 3 is a promising type having his first run here but he ran out of his skin in a derby heat at Canno from last week and repeat of that would see him threaten here. Race 5 No. 6 Sunset Callisto and No. 7 Spider Venom The 6 tried his hand over 488 last time but it’s just a bridge too far and this trip is more to his liking. Well boxed wide, can win. The 7 is not a 520 dog anymore. Simply doesn’t have the last section he once had. This is his future around the 350-400m mark so it’s just the track he needs to handle. Will be a price but don’t dismiss him. Race 6 No. 3 Rare Speed Needs to do something here with a fair few of these staying up the track. Look for a better step and if she’s close at the top she can run into this quickly and strongly. The 5 is the only dog she can’t run down but he has a tricky draw to handle. Trust she turns up this time. Race 7 No. 5 Brain Teaser and No. 6 Barrio Beast The 5 handed in a career peak last week spearing out and never looking like stopping when scoring in 22.18. Is in rare form and will lead again if she steps in a race where they are all boxed upside down. The 6 will flop to the fence and with several of these getting right off around the turn, he just hugs the rail home and can hit the frame. EW for these two. Race 8 No. 4 Pepper Grinder and No. 7 Saige Tenniele The 4 lost the compass at Northam on Monday in a race she was never in. Back here where she knows her way around and will be charging home in this. Hits the frame here with a little luck. The 7 was run down over that same trip and race at Northam and she will appreciate being back here. Shes the fastest dog in the race but has to deal with the box. Goes well if she does. Race 9 No. 7 Butter Me Up and No. 8 Elsa Baloney The 7 to lead again, hit the flat spot……again, get going late……again. That’s her play and it’s the flat spot where she wins or loses. The 8 could be a surprise packet here. Former Tassie dog who has ability and been taken along patiently since arriving. Track will suit and she is strong. Don’t ignore her. Race 10 No. 7 Go Seek Arianna and No. 2 Impress Rocks The 7 resumed from a let up last week with a good win over the 300m. Has reliable box manners and raced decent company before and will look to go forward again. Hard to reel in. The 2 is not handling the first turn and needs to start driving into it with more conviction. Small field gives him that chance. Trust needed but has talent. Race 11 No. 4 Maximum Carnage Has been ordinary lately but gets in well here and this is chance to bounce back. Can run time when he steps and gets on the arm and that could happen in this. No excuses in this company and needs to show something tonight. Market Market
