Warren Huntly’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on May 17, 2024May 17, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 SNEAKY SUNRISE hit the line well in a key lead up race and can settle closer from a favourable draw. NARBOLD comes through the same race and seemed to appreciate the step up to 1400m on that occasion. SNACK BAR controlled the race when stepping up to 1400m last time and expect similar tactics here. SWING BYE has been given some quiet jumpouts and looks to move well. Selections: 10,3,1,9 Suggested Bet: Sneaky Sunrise each way Race 2 MIRZANN ran well at his Australian debut and gets a five kilo weight swing on CADMUS, who has strong claims again, from that race. EUPHORIC is racing well without winning this prep, if he can begin cleanly with blinkers on then he’ll be in the finish. MOVEFORLEX can improve on a more spacious, firmer track. SIR KINGSFORD is fit and flying. Selections: 11,5,6,12 Suggested Bet: Mirzann to win Race 3 NIANCE appeared agitated pre-race last start when performing well below market expectations. If she’s back to her previous form here, then she’ll be hard to beat. AWANI PRINCESS returned with an emphatic win and showed some tactical versatility there. PRAIRIE FLOWER was held up at a crucial stage last start. WAKANJEJA and PUKETIRO will be charging late. MOOR MUMM and FEARLESS WRITER beat Niance home last time, so have obvious claims. Selections: 7,3,1,8 Suggested Bet: Niance to win Race 4 MODOWN looks hard to beat coming back to 1400m with blinkers on from a favourable draw. FLYING FIZZ ran well against the bias at Warrnambool and will appreciate stepping up to 1400m. THE SHAPER is building a handy record and is unbeaten at 1400m. SCULLY drops in grade and had excuses at his only attempt at this trip. LE ZEBRA has jumped out well to resume. Selections: 2,8,4,3 Suggested Bet: Modown each way Race 5 Competitive race where not much would surprise. PRETTY TAVI quickened nicely to win first up and should strip fitter. SISTERHOOD has been jumping out well and brigs a strong first up profile. YULONG STORM handles the straight well and hit the line strongly against the bias at Warrnambool. WHITE BEAR is fit and racing in good form. DOTHRAKI has trialled well behind Steparty. RICH LOVER, LOSESOMEWINMORE and SIOUX SPIRIT are in the game and still could have missed the winner! Selections: 15,11,1,13 Suggested Bet: Pretty Tavi each way Race 6 NAVY KING hit the line strongly when stepping up to this trip last start and gets a weight advantage on AZTEC STATE, who will be hard to beat again. SABAN ran well in strong company prior to his maiden win last start and his form ties in with HEED THE OMENS. Selections: 5,1,10,4 Suggested Bet: Navy King each way Race 7 WALTZ ON BY ran creditably at Group 1 level last start has handled the straight well. IT’SOURTIME is most effective down the straight and hit the line strongly in the Wangoom. GENERAL BEAU had excuses last start and seems to be running 1200m out strongly now. STEPARTY has trialled well and his upside is hard to overlook. WHO DARES won well first up and will strip fitter. Selections: 13,4,2,6 Suggested Bet: Waltz On By each way Race 8 THE MAP is in great form, she has a touch of class and looks an ideal candidate to try an earn a Melbourne Cup spot. LIONEL did more than enough at his Australian debut and has jumped out in great style since. EXCELLERATION defeated The Map in the Adelaide Cup and has trialled well leading into this event. MOSTLY CLOUDY brings solid staying form and races well here. Selections: 12,9,3,6 Suggested Bet: The Map to win Race 9 GALERON has been kept fresh for the drop back in trip and jumped out nicely between runs. GREEN FLY found a suitable race on a soft track last time but had been racing well on former ground leading into that win. MUNHAMEK will need luck from the draw but ran as good as he could in a leader dominated race last start. EL SOLEADO beat Munhamek home in that race and must have claims again, as does DASHING, who showed good fight to win that race. Selections: 6,15,1,2 Suggested Bet: Galeron each way Same Race Multi: Galeron (Top 2) + Green Fly (Top 4) Race 10 SHESALLSHENANIGANS is a winner down the straight and fought on strongly after covering some additional ground last time. PONDALOWIE is a fast on pacer and was back to her best last start. DIAMOND DECORATOR has been freshened, she’s won a recent trial and drops in grade. ICARUS created a good impression winning on debut and has jumped out well for his return to the track. PRINZERRO, who has been gelded, and WALLENDA have both been trialling well. Selections: 1,7,3,10 Suggested Bet: Shesallshenanigans each way Market Market
