Greg’s Belmont Preview Posted on May 26, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper RACE 1 RUBIA MISS improved sharply with the blinkers going on at her second career start. She should burn over from her wide gate to race handy to the speed and prove hard to run down. ART SERIES appears the clear danger after producing two strong win. Pike retains the ride and she has drawn to get a lovely run. UNDER THE ARCHES came from the tail on debut. She can settle much closer from gate 1. TIME ON MY SIDE resumes off a strong trial win. Numbers – 2 – 1 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – RUBIA MISS AND ART SERIES RACE 2 SALORSCI faces his toughest test to date to remain unbeaten however think he is up to the task. He resumed without a trial and was able to hold off the high-class filly Dainty Tess. He can lead or take the camp which gives him a slight edge. TOP OF THE CLASS was game in defeat last start. Pike goes for Noske. MINUS LOOKS improves back to the 1300m. STORM DANCER will finish strongly. Numbers – 2 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SALORSCI WIN (SUPER PICK MONEY BACK SECOND) RACE 3 This looks a terrific clash between MADASSA and COOL PASSION. If MADASSA can cross to the front and roll along he gets a slight edge. SWEET ORA is racing solidly without winning. She takes on the older horses and gets big weight relief. SHOWY CHLOE next best. Numbers – 1 – 2 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – MADASSA AND COOL PASSION RACE 4 This looks a very evenly graded bunch of horses. ASTRONOMITE was solid first-up. Expecting him to improve off that run and with the lack of expected tempo in the race expecting Pike to ride him much more aggressively early to be likely outside the leader in running. MILITARY RULER excels at this track. He can lead and give a big sight. MIKI TWO TOES will sit off the speed and work home strongly. RED PUBLISHER is always a chance at this level. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – ASTRONOMITE AND MILITARY RULER RACE 5 This looks a very competitive three-year-old event. ALLUME LE FEU is a maiden with plenty of potential. She will settle midfield on the fence and if the gaps appear she will be hard to hold out. RICH RED has been knocking on the door at both runs. Back to his own age group and drawing a good gate he gets his chance. RISING SEA won well first-up. He can lead or box seat. GEIGER GEM measures up again. Suggested – 11 – 3 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ALLUME LE FEU AND RICH RED RACE 6 HOT BRESA towelled up an average bunch in midweek grade. This is a rise in class however expecting to measure up. MAGIC ROCKET was terrific first-up over a mile. On the quick back up second over 2100m are queries but he does have a touch of class. CULVERIN looks just about ready to win a race. ENTRECHAT was scratched from a winnable race on Wednesday to be saved for this. Numbers – 5 – 1 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – HOT BRESA WIN RACE 7 WAR JEUNE looks a terrific chance in this year’s Provincial Championship final. The blinkers go on and he should race in a forward position and prove hard to run down. HELM’S GATE won well first-up. The 1400m is even more suitable. THE DANKSTER will settle just behind the speed and has good claims with Pike on. RIKKI TIKKI TAVI the best chance of the Kalgoorlie runners. Numbers – 4 – 2 – 13 – 7 Suggested Bet – WAR JEUNE AND HELM’S GATE RACE 8 STATE SOLICITOR raced very flat first-up. The three weeks between runs should be a positive and expecting him to bounce back strongly on a track he has produced his best career efforts. LENIENCE can lead and give a big sight. UPTOWN FUNK and MAD BRAD the best of the closers. Numbers – 3 – 6 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – STATE SOLICITOR WIN Bet Now!
