Greg Hooper’s Ascot Saturday Preview Posted on April 13, 2017April 18, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper RACE 1 Tricky race to start the program with six of the nine making their race track debut. Liked the trials of both VITAL BLAST and SHELLYLOUSAN. Both found the line strongly. FOXY PRINCESS was outgunned in the Karrakatta Plate. From gate 1 she should get every chance. ROUND THE POINT hails from the gun juvenile stable and has trialled well. Numbers – 3 – 7 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – VITAL BAST AND SHELLYLOUSAN RACE 2 Very tough maiden with most runners bringing in scratchy form. KING OF HOLLYWOOD worked home well at Pinjarra over the 120m. The rise in trip should suit. KIMBO’S GIRL has almost run out of chances however she should lead or breeze and has claims. VITAL TOUCH is close to a win. RONBOY will enjoy getting up in distance. Numbers – 3 – 8 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – KING OF HOLLYWOOD WIN RACE 3 TOUCH OF SILVER looks a very promising type. He took out the Apprentices Challenge race at his most recent start after parking wide throughout. He’s up in class but should take the next step. PUSHIN’ SHAPES is flying. He looks the danger. ROYAL SUPREME is hard to catch but suspect the drop back to 1800m is an advantage. EXCELLENTLY can lead and fall into the first four. Numbers – 3 – 1 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – TOUCH OF SILVER WIN (SUPER PICK PROFIT PLUS) RACE 4 COME ON BOARD should be ready to fire at his third run back form a spell. From gate 4 he should tag the speed and go very close. MAXIMUS MAK led all the way in a similar race two back then never looked like it in the Apprentices Challenge race. He can improve sharply. REGAL ROUGE should be suited with the drop-in trip. CUBITT AND CUNDY worked hard last start from a wide gate. He should get it much softer from gate 3. Numbers – 5 – 7 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – COME ON BOARD AND MAXIMUS MAK RACE 5 This looks a very competitive race. A KNIGHT OF PRO was huge in defeat behind REGAL CLASS two starts back and then probably wasn’t suited with the drop back to 1200m. From gate 2 parking close to the speed he can win. REGAL CLASS is starting to put things together and the blinkers seemed to sharpen her up further last start. KLEVA KEZZA is a monster of a horse. He leads and is the one to run down. REVEILLE has claims. Suggested – 4 – 3 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – A KNIGHT OF PRO AND REGAL CLASS RACE 6 There is a bit of depth to this sprint. FLOYD steps up to the 1200m for the first time which is a slight query however he is a three-year-old with immense promise and suspect he can run it out strongly. MY GRACE is a filly blessed with a big late finish. If they over cook it upfront she’ll be hard to hold out. JUST ACT NATURAL returns from a freshen-up. If he’s tuned up and ready to go he’ll give a big sight on the speed. STAR GLITTER continues to race well. Numbers – 8 – 2 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – THE COBBLA AND DENDEE RACE 7 MAN BOOKER is looking to make it five in a line this campaign and he should go very close despite having to carry the 60.5kg. At his most recent start he was too despite having to do it in the tradesman like fashion from outside the leader. From gate 3 expecting he lands one by one and will be too slick. INFATHUATED brings some intrigue into the race. He’s up in class but down to just 54kg. GREAT SHOT is very honest and run top three again. COMING BACK next best. Numbers- 1 – 8 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAN BOOKER WIN RACE 8 Tough finish with many of the runners appearing to have genuine winning claims. HARPOON broke her local duck at Pinjarra when she simply out stayed her rivals in a true test of strength. Chris Parnham goes on and she can win again. CAPPO D’ORO was a bit flat second-up. He’s looking for this trip now. PROXY is close to a win. MIDNIGHT BANQUET can lead and give them something to chae. Numbers – 8 – 2 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – HARPOON WIN Bet Now!
