Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 2, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1: WA RACING HALL OF FAME – 2ND MARCH 3YO FILLIES MS PACE MACZAFFAIR (2) has returned from a spell in great fashion, winning two of her three starts including a solid win here recently. Her chances will improve if she finds the top but she can still breeze and win. BEACH GODDESS (1) led throughout over the 1730m to win here last week and should be thereabouts whether she leads or sits tonight. LADY LUCA (3) is drawn to get a lovely run and was only beaten 4.3m by MACZAFFAIR (2) last start. SOMEWHEREONLYIKNOW (6) has won her last four starts but is drawn wide first up. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (2) to win. Race 2: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – BOB POLLOCK MS PACE JAMES GALLEON (8) was unplaced at his first three starts back from a spell before facing the breeze when a solid 3rd to Mister Daytona. This is a significant drop in class and he looks hard to beat despite the wide draw. OUR JACCKA MARA (5) has had no luck recently and can be put into the race tonight and should be a big improver. IM MISTER CHARLIE (6) is first up from a spell but won a recent trial and should be a player. VULTAN TIN (2) is another who hasn’t had much luck recently and will appreciate a better draw. Tips: 8 5 6 2 Suggested Bet: JAMES GALLEON (8) to win. Race 3: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – LYLE LINDAU WESTBRED MS PACE PERSISTENT THREAT (1) has performed credibly at his two runs back from a spell, finishing 3rd behind Shirlz Sensation before a close up 4th last week. He has the perfect draw and is clearly the one to beat. MISTER VERSACE (4) was unwanted in the betting when a good winner over Military Master last start and should be in the finish again. ROCKNROLL WHITBY (3) has dominated in two Busselton wins and can handle the rise in class. MACHRIHANISH (8) is racing well enough but will be driven negatively from his draw. Tips: 1 4 3 8 Suggested Bet: PERSISTENT THREAT (1) to win. Race 4: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – SIR FRANK LEDGER MS PACE LAGOON BEACH (1) attempted to lead throughout from this barrier five starts back when 2nd to Bad Round and has been at big odds at his subsequent runs. He looks the leader tonight and is suited by the sprint trip. MANTOMAN (8) has been placed after facing the breeze in similar company at his past two runs and should be thereabouts again. BETTOR AS (5) has finished just behind the placegetters at his past six runs but this looks slightly easier. WALKABOUT CREEK (9) was a good 2nd last start and will be running on. Tips: 1 8 5 9 Suggested Bet: LAGOON BEACH (1) to win. Race 5: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – ROB BOVELL MS PACE THREE KINGS (1) hasn’t drawn inside barrier six at his last five starts and gets his chance tonight. He is a solid front runner and will give them something to catch over the sprint trip. IROCKMYWORLD (2) would win this if he found the front based on his all the way win four starts back but is unlikely to find the top. SOHO CHELSEA (7) was disappointing last start but looks better suited over this distance. SUZIES GEM (10) has changed stables but should enjoy a nice run on the pegs. Tips: 1 2 7 10 Suggested Bet: THREE KINGS (1) to win. Race 6: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – ALAN PARKER MS PACE IM LISART (1) has only won once in his last 25 starts but his recent form has been sound with placings at three of his last four starts. He was a fair 4th here last week and should give a great sight from the pole. BOUNTY EYRE (8) hasn’t won in his last 11 starts but his effort when finishing 3rd to Atlastalone was full of merit. MAX MERIDIUS (10) was held up; at a crucial stage in the same race last week and looks likely to enjoy a lovely run. OHOKA KENTUCKY (6) has been racing consistently and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 1 8 10 6 Suggested Bet: IM LISART (1) to win. Race 7: TABTOUCH MS PACE KIWI LEGEND (6) led from the pole when a comfortable winner in a similar field last week. He is drawn wider tonight and won’t get it as easy but is still the one to beat. BRONZE SEEKER (1) is racing extremely well and this barrier will suit his sit-sprint style but he may lead tonight. TWOANDAHALF TIGERS (5) looked back to his best last week when 2nd to MAJOR RUSH (2) and is drawn inside KIWI LEGEND (6). BETTOR OFFER (11) finished 2nd to KIWI LEGEND (6) last week and could turn the tables if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 6 1 5 11 Suggested Bet: KIWI LEGEND (6) to win. Race 8: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – HAROLD RICHTER MARES MS PACE CHELSEA ROYALE (1) has led throughout at three of her last four starts and gets her chance to repeat the dose. She may be susceptible if there is constant pressure throughout but is capable of a 55.5 half if left alone. OUR GAMMA LADY (3) has won her last three, including a 1.56.8 win over Touch Of Success last start and will be hard to beat. GIULIANA RANCIC (2) has won her past two in easier company but will be in the finish if she gets the right run. SHE ARTFUL (10) is a last start winner who should get a perfect run in transit. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: CHELSEA ROYALE (1) to win. Race 9: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – ANDY SHEAHAN THE LEWIS QUALIFYING HEAT 1 ATLASTALONE (1) led throughout to beat AMERICAN BOY (3) by 11m in a slick 1.55.7 mile rate for the 2130m. He will lead easily again and is the one to beat. AMERICAN BOY (3) couldn’t get near ATLASTALONE (1) last week but is drawn to settle a lot closer and will be right there at the finish. MISTER DAYTONA (6) is drawn poorly but has won 15 of his 20 starts and must be considered. OUR REGAL IDEAL (2) doesn’t have the class of most of his rivals but is drawn to get a nice run. Tips: 1 3 6 2 Suggested Bet: ATLASTALONE (1) to win. Race 10: WA RACING HALL OF FAME NOMINEE – JIM HAND MS PACE QUESTIONABLE GESTURE (3) has been placed at his last six starts, including a win here five starts back. He faced the breeze and was a gallant 2nd to Bethany Aitch in quick time in his latest effort and looks a major player tonight. STAR ARMBRO (2) hasn’t been able to get into the race at his two runs since a good all the way in solid time and will be hard to catch if he finds the top. THE STORM CHIEF (6) couldn’t make ground in a quick last half at his last run but his previous form is good enough. RACEY AMERICAN (1) looks a place chance from the pole. Tips: 3 2 6 1 Suggested Bet: QUESTIONABLE GESTURE (3) to win. Bet Now
