Gator’s Buy & Sell: Week 8 Posted on April 2, 2019April 4, 2019 | Posted by David Gately BUY FORTRESS COMMAND Whilst the leader/winner (Bellevue Hill) was impressive on a strong speed in the Group 3 The Schweppervesence, this colt was strong late out to 1400m and ran the fastest final 200m of the race (13.02s). Adding merit to the run was the fact that leaders/on-pace runners won the first four races at Rosehill on Saturday. SIREN’S FURY No shock this girl was backed in the Group 3 Star Kingdom Stakes, as she just went up silly odds off two very good runs with plenty against her. She was still way back on the turn, yet surged home over Group 1 winner Manuel running +3.4L for her final last 600m. Likely to next be seen in the Group 1 Coolmore Legacy on April 13 and if she strikes a wet track (there’s every chance!) she won’t be hopeless. ABDON He’s going very well and I love the way he attacked the line on Saturday in the Group 3 Doncaster Prelude. His 12.14s last 200m was the day’s fastest and I doubt he was in absolute A-ground by the time they ran Race 8. SELL MOSS ‘N’ DALE I thought he was a false favourite on Saturday in the Group 3 Sellwood Stakes, and whilst he ran okay, he seems below his best. BRIMHAM ROCKS He was so consistent last prep, but seems a shadow of what we saw in the spring. Only beat Ace High home in the Group 1 Tancred Stakes, and was beaten close to 14 lengths. MAHALANGUR He’s a handy horse but no star and often very short in betting. He was a $4 chance in the BM88 at Rosehill on Saturday, but only plugged home into fifth. Back to midweek meetings might help him. Feature Races Feature Races
