BUY

SUPERHARD

Top return win in Saturday’s 1000m BM90 at Flemington, where he clocked 31.85s for his last 600m, which was faster than Osborne Bulls on the day, and some 10 lengths above the average.

SPANISH WHISPER

She sat three-wide without cover (mostly) off a fast speed in the Group 2 Kewney Stakes, yet still managed to win. She was only second-up and the race rated very well, some 3.6 lengths above class average, running 1:22.04. The filly will now be aimed at the $1 million G1 Coolmore Legacy Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on April 13, and she should be competitive.

MADISON COUNTY

He was way back and didn’t quicken like The Autumn Sun, but he wound-up very strongly late in the G1 Randwick Guineas. In fact, his 11.64s last 200m was identical to that of the exceptional winner. Wants further and looks a great ATC Derby chance, despite not being nominated.

I’m always happy to risk him at Group level. He went around under the odds again ($8.50) when last in the Listed Moomba Plate on Saturday.

CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES

She is very genuine and gives her all, but the simple fact is she’s not up to G1 standard (she’s 0/7 at the top level).

I have lost faith. It was an average effort in the G1 Canterbury Stakes on Saturday, where he was sent out the $3.80 favourite. He is always well backed or hard in the market. It’s now 12 months since he won a race.
