Doomben Thoroughbreds Preview – 20 February Posted on February 19, 2016 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.1 La Spiaggia Gold Coast trained galloper from the Toby Edmonds yard who is racing in very good form. Only lightly raced he put in a terrific effort here two starts back behind the flying Right Or Wrong when running out of room half way down the straight, he recovered late and wound up just over a length away on the line. Since won at the Gold Coast on an unsuitable surface, gets a gun run, looks well weighted and can go very close. RACE 5 No.1 Quick Ketch Very promising galloper who has won both starts this campaign finishing on strongly from off the pace. Owners have received offers in the 400k range for this Jet Spur gelding however haven’t committed to any deals as yet. With the claim for Emma Ljung he’ll carry half a kilo less than he did when winning last time out and the rise in distance will suit nicely. With clear air in the straight he can bring up the hat trick. RACE 6 No.9 Marshal Trained at the Gold Coast by Melissa Leitch this General Nediym gelding looks great value tomorrow at well into double figure odds. His run two back after missing the start was full of merit, last time out he cruised into the race at the top of the straight however just didn’t handle the going at all not letting down on the Heavy surface. Back on firmer footing tomorrow will suit nicely and he’ll get his chance. Best Bet Race 5 No.1 Quick Ketch Best Value Race 6 No.9 Marshal Quaddie 90% 1 1, 3, 6, 9 1, 3, 5, 8 8. 9, 12 Bet Now!
