RACE 3 NO.7 CHIVARGO

CHIVARGO looks a handy type resuming from a spell when she runs in the 3YO Fillies Benchmark 70 Handicap (1100m) and a prominent showing can be expected. The daughter of Deep Field managed to win one of her three starts in her initial racing campaign, however all of her racing was conducted on rain affected ground. She has trialled brilliantly on two occasions in recent weeks on dry tracks suggesting that she is a much better galloper on top of the ground. She possesses good tactical speed and should measure up to this grade at good each way odds.

RACE 4 NO.3 BLAZEJOWSKI

Talented galloper BLAZEJOWSKI came of age last preparation with three consecutive wins and looks a terrific first-up chance when he contests the Open Sprint (1100m). The five year old is building a fine record of six wins and five placings from 15 starts to date and trialled like an upcoming winner over 800 metres at Cranbourne on December 23. This is a very suitable race class-wise and in-form rider Jye McNeil takes the mount so BLAZEJOWSKI has plenty in his favour to return to racing as a winner.

RACE 8 NO.3 ODEON

ODEON has been a much maligned galloper for his low winning strike rate at the back end of his career, however he comes off a last start win in the Lord Stakes (1700m) at Caulfield on December 26 and looks the one to beat again when he contests the Open Handicap (1600m). The six year old seems to have found his niche distance now, he has the speed to make his own luck from an inner draw and dominate this race. The added bonus is top apprentice Michael Poy’s 2kg claim and ODEON is poised to record his eighth career victory.
