Deane Lester’s Caulfield Best Bets Posted on February 21, 2020 | Posted by Deane Lester Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 2 NO.3 ADELAIDE ACE Talented young stayer ADELAIDE ACE has returned to racing in good form and looks the one to beat when he contests the Caulfield Autumn Classic (1800m). The Lindsay Smith trained gelded resumed with a brilliant win over 1400 metres at Werribee on January 19 before running a brave 2nd behind MICROPHONE in the Autumn Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 8. He will relish a step up in distance and looks drawn for a cheap run. The son of Savabeel is shaping as a contender for the feature three year old staying races this autumn and looks poised to record his 4th win from just 7 starts. RACE 6 NO.8 SUPER SETH In a great season for the current crop of three year olds, SUPER SETH appears ideally placed to claim another group one when he runs in the Futurity Stakes (1400m). The son of Dundeel resumed from a spell with a tough win in the Manfred Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 1. He will be fitter for that run and should be suited by a step up in distance. He should get the right run from a good draw and he’s still the only horse to beat ALLIGATOR BLOOD when he claimed the Caulfield Guineas (1600m) last October. Whilst he meets highly regarded older horses in KOLDING and MELODY BELLE, SUPER SETH should prove equal to the task and win again. RACE 9 NO.4 KINGS WILL DREAM KINGS WILL DREAM is the class runner in the Peter Young Stakes (1800m) and looks the best bet of the day. The Chris Waller trained gelding hit the line well when finishing 3rd behind ALABAMA EXPRESS in the C.F.Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 8. He is a winner over 1800 metres and, whilst he hasn’t won at Caulfield, has performed well at the track on every occasion. Elite rider Mark Zahra has a strong book of rides and has combined with KINGS WILL DREAM to win a couple of races at Flemington in 2018. He’s a genuine group one horse that is perfectly placed in this grade and should be winning. Market Market
