Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on February 11, 2022February 11, 2022 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE 1 ROCKNROLL ICON (2) has early hustle and should be able to press on to take control, a position he was successful from three starts back. Both efforts since are strong enough for him to be top of the pops. MAJOR FERNCO (9) was stung when asked to go 27.5 down the back last start as the pacesetter and grabbed in the closing strides. He can push through from this gate to secure position. OHOKA CHOPPER (1) gets back to a fence draw where he is more suited after being asked to work last time. All the options are a big advantage. SCOOB OPERATOR (6) grabbed 3rd from this gate last week and has place claims again. SELECTIONS: 2-9-1-6 SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL ICON (2) to win RACE 2 ROCK BOTTOM (3) was sent forward to sit parked last start and was in for the fight when holding 3rd as Le Tissier arrived up the passing lane. Defeating Manila Playboy 2 starts back, this looks within his reach. IT AINT THE MONEY (5) sat parked here last week and was gone at the top of the stretch. Lifting off the canvas he got back to the passing lane for the grittiest of wins and commands respect. BEAU CISHLOM (6) was charging home two to their one last week to get within a pimple of It Aint The Money and will be descending on them once again. HERBS HERO (8) was strong over the closing stages last time behind Hemsworth, just needs some luck. SELECTIONS: 3-5-6-8 SUGGESTED BET: ROCK BOTTOM (3) to win RACE 3 THE ANNOUNCER (4) rolled ahead to work to the front over the 2138m last week but could not repel them in the latter stages as Le Tissier arrived up the passing lane. Back to the mile suits and he can get into the battle. FOND MEMORIES (2) was too tough last week after sitting parked against her own sex and claiming the win. The improved gate is a plus in a slightly tougher contest. CHASING THE WIND (10) attacked the line with power from this gate two starts back and will appreciate some tempo. GOLIGHTLY (8) took full advantage of gate one here last week to lead throughout. Needing a rub of the green this week, he will be searching for gaps. SELECTIONS: 4-2-10-8 SUGGESTED BET: THE ANNOUNCER (4) to win RACE 4 HEMSWORTH (11) has been super since resuming from a spell and has quickly claimed four wins on the bounce. Doing it in front last start, he has shown versatility since returning and can power home off the tempo. BIG WHEELS (7) carved out a smart mile from the wide gate last start when fresh and will be tightened from the run. He steps up to the 2138m and can keep on rolling. SOHO SINATRA (5) has been transformed since joining the Donny Smith barn and goes in search of a hat-trick of wins after two smart performances. LADY AVANA (1) is suited by the map that presents here and tucked in behind the action has place opportunities. SELECTIONS: 11-7-5-1 SUGGESTED BET: HEMSWORTH (11) to win RACE 5 PHILANDERING CHEF (8) was beaten by gate seven last start after retreating and then never in consideration. A big winner five runs back, he gets the chance to be in the position to land the snipers shot. PEBBLE SANDS (1) has early hustle and lands the alley to search for a dictating win. Taking them all the way at Redcliffe three starts back, the big query is seeing out the AP 2138m. THE GENERAL (10) has not been over inspiring at his past two starts which followed a big win in front here three back. This field gives him the chance for redemption. STRONG RESPONSE (12) has been a revelation since returning from a spell, with three wins. The gate is a big dampener. SELECTIONS: 8-1-10-12 SUGGESTED BET: PHILANDERING CHEF (8) to win RACE 6 AMERICAN FLYER (1) has drawn the front line twice here at The Creek and led and won on both occasions. Better suited in front, where six of her seven Aussie wins have been recorded, the gate gives her the opportunity to add another. EXPLICIT CASTLE (8) was hemmed away from this alley last week but if able to hold leaders back, will be coiled and ready to strike in this line up. BLUE MOON RISING (9) is a fence line opportunist and lands the chance to dart down and be ready to make a closing play. BITCOIN (6) has shown good improvement at each run as he builds into the campaign and has claims despite the sticky gate. SELECTIONS: 1-8-9-6 SUGGESTED BET: AMERICAN FLYER (1) to win and Trifecta 1-8 / 1-2-6-8-9 RACE 7 BLUE IVY (5) did not have much go her way last start from gate ten but was not too far from the winner Pippa Maguire. That followed successive Redcliffe wins and in a wide-open mares contest, she can sneak home. HEAVENLY WISDOM (1) has the hustle to choose her position here with the gate a big advantage to her claims. GOALKICKER (8) could not last here last week when trying to fight them off after setting the speed. From this alley, she will be coiled and ready to strike. ROSIE ROCKS (10) never saw open road here last week in her first Qld outing to be just 4m from the winner. Just needs a rub of the green from this gate. SELECTIONS: 5-1-8-10 SUGGESTED BET: BLUE IVY (5) to win RACE 8 CHAMONIX (7) has no favours from the wide alley fresh up at his first 4YO outing but can bring the right type of form to be successful. He was dead game when parked outside Big Wheels last start back in December. ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (5) can be a hard horse to follow, and the tricky gate makes it tough again in this contest. A handy runner-up last start to Soho Sinatra keeps him in contention. DOCTA FEELGOOD (2) needs to rise slightly in grade here but produces the gate advantage against some of his main dangers. LEFT A TERROR (9) has the second line to negotiate but this looks an easier line up to what he has been facing in recent times, the latest when chasing home behind Ohoka Chopper. SELECTIONS: 7-5-9-2 SUGGESTED BET: CHAMONIX (7) to win RACE 9 L L COOL J (1) holds the keys to this contest and if he has the hustle to keep the chasers wide, his chances will rise exponentially from the front end. Nabbed by Speech Is Silver last start to be denied a quartet of successive victories, he is the one they need to beat. MISTERFREEZE (2) is going as well as any horse in Qld at present but just is not getting the reward. The chance to dart in behind the speed here is appealing. SPEECH IS SILVER (7) has gone against what we thought was his pattern to earn a pair of determined victories at his past two starts when racing first over. He can take another step here. WILL THE WIZARD (3) looked to have found the right conditions after landing a front line draw last start but could not finish it off. The early burn could be telling. SELECTIONS: 1-2-7-3 SUGGESTED BET: MISTERFREEZE (2) to place (Place 1-2 only) RACE 10 SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) watched the tempo unfold over the mobile mile last start before charging home over the top for an impressive victory. A winner at four of his past five appearances here from the mobile, he should be too hot for his rivals. DOUG (5) found the 40m beyond him last start and the start prior it was Bad Doug at the races. Pressing forward, Good Doug is up to the challenge. STRESS FACTOR (2) has good speed out of the machine and gains the right gate to be in the right position. JUSTABITNOISY (1) grabbed 3rd here last week, secures the gate to be just in behind the action and never runs a bad race. SELECTIONS: 6-5-2-1 SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (6) to win Market Market
