Darren Clayton’s Albion Park Preview Posted on November 26, 2021November 26, 2021 | Posted by Darren Clayton RACE 1 GOVERNOR JUJON (5) has faced the starter on just 4 occasions in his 4YO season for two wins and two seconds. His last start win was a tough effort to circle the field and sit parked. Fitter third-up, he can overcome the tough gate. DEUS EX (11) was looking to step up into FFA grade in the Be Good Johnny, but an early gate error ended his hopes. A winner in his only other three starts in Queensland but the draw stings. SCARLET BABE (1) appears to be better working home off the speed but was gunned down in front last start. Options are available from this gate. IDEAL WORLD (3) was game in front last start in FFA company when clinging on for a minor after setting the speed and owns the early power. SELECTIONS: 5-11-1-3 SUGGESTED BET: GOVERNOR JUJON (5) to win RACE 2 STREITKID (4) was sent for a freshen and second-up, a return to mid-week company was the catalyst for a slick confidence building win from the front when rating sub 1.53. Checking the factors he faces- mile-tick, lead-tick, win- pencil ready to add the tick. B MAC C (1) sat in the pocket trail last week but was unable to gun down the leader and winner Herbs Hero. Once again, he will be stalking. KEY LARGO (9) landed the winning blow up the passing lane last start to extend a successful period of 4 wins and 4 minors in his past 11 outings. EL AGUILA (7) is slammed with the carpark alley which makes this an exponentially tougher assignment as he searches for 3 successive victories. SELECTIONS: 4-1-9-7 SUGGESTED BET: STREITKID (4) to win RACE 3 ITALIAN LAD (10) made a mid-race attack last start over the 2138m to find the front with a lap to travel. Unable to put them away thereafter as Governor Jujon took the win, a return to this level of opponent should suit. BALDUCCI (8) had shown he was ready to strike for his first win in Queensland and franked that assessment last start when landing a knockout blow. The pattern sets up again ideally. JUMPING JACK JIMMY (1) starts from gate 1 as he did last week where he was gone at the 400m when leading. He climbed off the canvas to claw back 2nd place with only Key Largo up the passing lane beating him home. COMMODORE JUJON (9) has versatility to call on and will have peg or running line options from this alley.SELECTIONS: 10-8-1-9 SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 8-10 / 1-4-8-9-10 RACE 4 BLACKSADANCE (4) landed the inside second line barrier in both features earlier this month, which was not ideal on either occasion. Running some slick closing panels in each race when trying to make ground, a return to the front line should prove fruitful. TURN IT UP (1) was gone at the 400m in the sprint when trying to lead all the way and then taking the trail in the Queensland Cup held 2nd behind Mach Da Vinci. The tactics employed in this sprint trip will decide his fate. SPEECH IS SILVER (5) was back to his regular pattern last start when saved for a closing challenge and another small field suits. NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (2) will get first option on the pegs and is going well enough to be a place filler from the inside.SELECTIONS: 4-1-5-2 SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (4) to win RACE 5 GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) has led from tight gates at his past 3 starts and been run down on all 3 occasions. Despite that fact, conditions look right to turn it around. Likely to be the hunted once again, this time he can avoid capture. ONE LAST ROLL (2) led them all the way three starts back in a smart win and does have the early speed where the gap for a trail might just prevail. YOUNG CONQUEROR (6) was beaten by the tempo last start from back in the pack. Facing a tough gate, he still has the opportunity for a sharper effort. THE IDEAL DANCER (4) scalped Gleneagle Warrior last week after getting the perfect sit. This gate makes it a little tougher. SELECTIONS: 1-2-6-4 SUGGESTED BET: GLENEAGLE WARRIOR (1) to win RACE 6 LEAP TO FAME (8) appreciated a return to his home deck last start after a Sydney trip that did not bear fruit. Burrowing through to lead in that return, he will need to chase here in a tough 2YO event that is far from clear-cut. AWAYWEGO (3) speared out before releasing to Teddy Disco 2 runs back and then last start could not cross Leap To Fame which effectively ended his chances. Finding the pegs will be a big plus. BANGKOK DEEJAY (2) owned the best close-out speed here last week when powering home for the prize. Only lightly raced, there should be plenty to take from the win. RACY ROXY (6) was large in defeat last week after finding the front in a 26.1 first panel and given the stink-eye in the run. The gate dampens her hopes.SELECTIONS: 8-3-2-6 SUGGESTED BET: LEAP TO FAME (8) to win RACE 7 JUDDY DOUGLAS (2) has probably been more cold than hot, but conditions look ideal to turn up the heat here. With some smart performances when putting the power on, he finds the race dial it up and claim victory number 3 at The Creek. THE BANKER (1) is likely going better than the figure form suggests, his latest return a tidy effort from gate 4. The improved gate is a big help here. FIRST STRING (4) was able to grab 3rd last start behind The Ideal Dancer but has been a hard follow recently. The smaller field and conditions should be more suitable. PINUP BOY (5) will strip fitter following a first up 3rd but faces a sticky gate. SELECTIONS: 2-1-4-5 SUGGESTED BET: JUDDY DOUGLAS (2) to win RACE 8 SCOTTS RAIN (5) will face basically the same field for this contest that she beat home two starts back and then again last week bar for Hello Its Me who grabbed the prize. Starting from gate 10 in that race, the front-line gate is a huge help. MAGGIE (9) put together a pair of impressive wins and was shooting for the hat-trick last start when gate 7 was her undoing. Trailing through here will help. SHEZ ALL STYLE (1) has good speed out of the machine and from this gate can get the right trail to be in the mix. GET READY TO ROCK (4) has been a model of consistency and lands the gate to be positioned to feature in the money.SELECTIONS: 5-9-1-4 SUGGESTED BET: SCOTTS RAIN (5) to win RACE 9 SIR FAHRENHEIT (9) has had the mercury running high in recent weeks with his only defeat in his past 5 starts when a game 2nd, nabbed by a charging Red Castleton. Sprinting over the top to claim a G2 victory last start, he can overcome the 30m. GEE UP NEDDY (6) looks well placed from the 10m tape to find a forward position and land a breakthrough after things have not really been in his favour of late. IM THE COMMANDO (2) had a flat tyre last start that could explain why he faded out after looking comfortable early in front. KINGDOM COME (7) is an opportunist that will be hemmed away and hoping the tempo suits his closing power. SELECTIONS: 9-6-2-7 SUGGESTED BET: SIR FAHRENHEIT (9) to win RACE 10 GENERAL MONTANA (2) pulled clear to post a huge margin here on Tuesday, never in danger after finding the front from gate 6. This is a quality 3YO contest and he looks to hold the aces with the early speed or the option to dart in behind. BIG WHEELS (1) has been over the 2138m in the feature events at his past two starts and not been too far from the winner on either occasion. A return to the mile looks the ideal scenario. MANILA PLAYBOY (6) was charging home wide off the track last start when tackling the older horses, hitting the line in style. Back to his own age is a plus. CHAMONIX (5) resumed from a spell with a smart win at the 2138m when sent forward to take control soon after the start, but the gate makes this tricky.SELECTIONS: 2-1-6-5 SUGGESTED BET: GENERAL MONTANA (2) to win Market Market
