Chris Nelson’s Sunshine Coast Best Bets Posted on January 27, 2023January 27, 2023 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 2 No.4 Tappy’s Lad Placed at Eagle Farm two back, not far away same track two 2400m runs prior plus the fact he’s won at 2500m all suggests he’s the one we can bank on running this trip right out. Beaten over 34 lengths at his latest run we can completely put the pen through that as he pulled up lame. He also gets weight off the more favoured runners. When the chips are down half way down the straight I’d be very surprised to see him shirk his task. RACE 3 No.2 Sailor Looks perfectly placed to bring up the hat trick of wins on Saturday. Only lightly raced he’s yet to put in a poor run this prep which includes his second up 8th when beaten under 3 lengths running home well from the back. Game winning two back he then zoomed past the leader when clear second up at Doomben. He’s also the only known on-paced runner in the race who may end up leading although I’d prefer him with a sit. RACE 6 No.4 The Bopper There was no better run on Wave Day than this Kris Lees trained galloper who recorded outstanding sectionals to beat all bar the speedy Archer’s Paradox at the Gold Coast. That followed a dominant victory here charging away from his opposition to score by 4 lengths over Saturdays 1000m trip. The map and the gate don’t look ideal however I’ll stick with him to mow the leaders down. Quaddie 4, 10 7, 2, 11 1, 2 9, 17, 11 Market Market
