Chris Nelson’s Sunday Rosehill Preview Posted on December 4, 2025December 4, 2025 | Posted by Richard Quance RACE 1 No racing in Sydney on Saturday due to the plus 40-degree weather forecast. Meeting has been moved to Sunday where conditions are set to be cooler. We get the day underway with a 1500m Midway where I’ll lean to the third-up (3) SATNESS, both runs this time in have been good with a little against on each occasion, well drawn here he should find the right position early. (7) CALLISTEMON comes to hand quickly which showed out when not far away first up at Kembla, another to draw favourably. (2) TAMBELOA an interesting runner coming back from Group 1 & 2 company his past couple. 3 – 7 – 2 – 13 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 2 Like to see (2) NATOYA make some use of the inside gate here as she looks well placed other than the map. Second at this level two starts back with a kilo more than she carries today she was unlucky not to finish closer than the one length defeat at Kembla. (1) ÉCLAIR ENCORE was a winner her only starts at this distance, include whilst (4) FULL HAO on the quick back up from Caulfield last week is in the mix also. 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 3 Big numbers in the Highway with a max of 17 to face the starter. (11) HIGHLY TEMPTED has only won the single race from 17 attempts however has placed on a further 9 occasions & should be at his peak fourth run back. Strictly each-way though. The lightly raced (2) ZUCCHERO rises 300m off the first up win, he rose 320m last prep second up winning at Scone suggesting that’s not going to be an issue. (1) TIETAR has to deal with a wide gate however is racing very well this prep. 11 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet: HIGHLY TEMPTED EACH-WAY (small bet). RACE 4 (9) MORTAL HALO the runner to beat here. Bolted in his maiden first up at Scone before straight to a BM72 here only going down narrowly. With 53kg he looks very well placed to go one better. In a race which is likely low on early speed (4) VIKTOR won’t be far away & is racing in good form, well worth including. (6) THE MONA LISA doesn’t map well however from the inside gate with a couple of gaps down the straight could be bursting through late. 9 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet: MORTAL HALO TO WIN. RACE 5 Nos.1, 2 & 10 all down to run at Doomben on Saturday as well as here, too early at this stage to know where they are all heading. Interestingly the blinkers go onto (4) NITRO who has given away big starts at both career outings yet really wound up to find the line winning on debut before a last start third. The gear change plus a positive draw may see him closer in the run, suggest that would be the plan. (7) SUPERMASSIVE is in the right yard & improved nicely between first & second starts. (3) LOVING has his first start for Bjorn Baker (ex James Cummimgs), also trialled well & holds an impressive record to date. 4 – 7 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet: NITRO EACH-WAY. RACE 6 (4) DOLLAR MAGIC resumes with a good fresh record & solid trial win under her belt. Her record her on this track is an interesting one, although yet to win from 8 attempts she has placed at 7 of those & amazingly 6 have been seconds! I can see her up in the first couple from the jump & from there she’ll give a big sight. (6) HAWKER HALL will be right up on the speed also, solid behind a good type first up. (7) CREPE MYRTLE rises plenty in class, last start winner however will have to be smart to win this. 4 – 6 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 7 (13) BELLA CORAZON likely the best placed in an open race. Not at all suited first up at Kembla tempo wise yet she closed off strongly beaten just over 2 lengths on the line. Ideally drawn here she again carries a light weight & keep in mind did win at the same stage of her last prep. (12) KILKENNY is only lightly raced, best form to date has been on dry ground & that’s exactly what he’ll get today, likely to get back off the wide draw however will be closing in late. (7) WINGS OF DESIRE the other main hope in the race having won well on the Heath track at Caulfield first up, has been thrown in the deep end a couple on a couple of occasions suggesting the stable have a good opinion of her. 13 – 12 – 7 – 14 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 8 I’m with the consistent (9) MICKEY’S MEDAL who goes around second-up having beaten all bar the above average Kintyre in a 200k feature at Canberra when resuming last month. Fitter for that he rises only a little in weight back to a track he’s won 3 of 5 on & the 1400m is just short of his preferred 1500m trip. (14) CHICA MOJITO resumes, she’s a real problem child for punters having won only 1 of 21 however never far away (10 placings). She’s gone around in better races than this, happy to respect, not to have my money on though. (5) MARE OF MT BULLER is a favourite of mine I’m always happy to include & her first up run was a good one in restricted room. 9 – 14 – 5 – 11 Suggested Bet: MICKEY’S MEDAL EACH-WAY. RACE 9 (10) UNITED KINGDOM does appear well placed here returning to good ground. Whilst he’s certainly no duffer on rain affected going his best form & wins have been on dry surfaces, his only victory this prep did come here over 1800m on a good (4). D-day for (2) BELLE DETELLE who although not beaten far at Kembla did have every possible chance, another likely better placed back on firmer footing however she needs to start living up to the early promise shown. (5) KING PEDRO will find this a tougher assignment than last start however keep in mind he did win by over 8L. Expect a better effort from (4) HURSTVILLE ZAGREB. 10 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet: UNITED KINGDOM EACH-WAY. RACE 10 I was keen on (10) BARTOLF at Kembla on ‘Gong’ day a fortnight ago however with the track downgrade through the day & him going around in the final race connections decided to pull him out. He’s now a month between runs however note he came off the same gap between starts to win at Gosford four runs back. (2) TUNED has come back a much more consistent galloper this prep, claim helps, gate doesn’t. I’ll be including (3) STEP ASIDE in everything as he resumes with a good fresh record & with a couple of trials under his belt should be ready to go. (4) SHIHAB similar, peaking nicely third run back looks ready. 10 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet: BARTOLF EACH-WAY. BEST BET RACE 4 # 9 MORTAL HALO BEST VALUE RACE 8 # 9 MICKEY’S MEDAL RACE 9 # 10 UNITED KINGDOM Market Market
