Chris Nelson’s Saturday Rosehill Preview Posted on November 27, 2025November 27, 2025 | Posted by Chris Nelson Race 1 We’re back in the big smoke after a couple of weeks away with racing at Rosehill on Saturday under fine skies on a good rated surface. The meeting gets underway with a 2yo affair where all bar 3 of the 13 acceptors are making their racetrack debuts. I’m going with race experience putting (5) JAIPUR MAISON on top. She settled well back on debut at Newcastle finding the line strongly over the final 200m of the race with ‘further’ written all over her. Well, she gets an additional 200m today & a good draw. (2) DR HOOK the best of the newcomers from the trials, suggest he’ll be ready to go off the recent win. (9) PALMANOVA next best. Numbers: 11 – 2 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet: JAIPUR MAISON TO WIN (small bet). RACE 2 2000m Midway where I’m going with the provincial form putting (11) GEEMES on top. She’s a promising mare with good upside who faces a step up in grade today however the way she stretched out to the line winning over 1800m at Hawkesbury last start suggests she can handle that & the additional 200m. Thought (9) STRAWBERRY IMPACT had his chance last start, consistent however the trip is an unknown. (4) PERFECT JUSTICE & (14) INSPIRED LEGEND round out the main chances, both are racing in very consistent form this prep. Numbers: 11 – 9 – 4 – 14 Suggested Bet: GEEMES EACH-WAY. RACE 3 Very open looking Highway. (8) ENNINROC hit the line very well late behind a very smart one at Randwick last start. He was a $21 shot & that made it two successive encouraging efforts, can he do it again? Well he’s big odds here & is worth a throw at the stumps in a small way. The resuming (2) SATIN STILETTO will have admirers, no trial however has been sound in much stronger races than this, market? (16) SERENADING is unbeaten & gets Kerrin McEvoy to steer from a good gate, wouldn’t underestimate. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 16 – 15 Suggested Bet: ENNINROC EACH-WAY (small bet). RACE 4 Very keen on the chances of (1) MERIDIANA to make it two straight & 3 from 4 this prep as she takes the step up in distance to 1800m. Very good winning fresh, excellent in defeat second-up before too strong the latest when able to settle closer to the lead. She’s very promising & should salute here. (2) LUSKAIRE is shooting for 5 straight which isn’t something we see a lot of, plenty of weight however draws the rails gate & can offset that with a cosy trip. 3, 4 & 5 in the mix however all will have their work cut out to beat MERIDIANA. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet: MERIDIANA TO WIN. RACE 5 Against my better judgement I’m going to tip the consistent (7) SNACK BAR being fully aware he’s not the most honest of gallopers going around. Formerly with the James Cummings yard we’ve seen many of the Godolphin owned runners with the stable change turn their form around & based on the trial win from this one recently he just might add to those numbers. No knock on the resuming (1) KING’ SECRET who holds an excellent strike rate, there’s certainly no questioning his honesty. (2) MEMORIA & (3) LYLES in the mix also. Numbers: 7 – 1 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet: SNACK BAR EACH-WAY. RACE 6 Wow, here’s a race! 2000m Country Classic for out-of-town runners with very different form lines. (7) BLACKLIST is a winner right up to 2400m, in fact although rising 100m today he may still find this too short. I’ll take the punt he won’t however on an each-way basis. (11) SOUTHERN DANCER maps to gain a good run in the race & won’t have any issues running the trip out. (8) POISEN POINT & (3) TAVROS have very consistent form, 2000m is the unknown with that pair though. Numbers: 7 – 11 – 8 – 3 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 7 (5) ZEALOUSLY & (1) FRONT PAGE the two for me in this race & honestly, I could go either way. The latter has by far the stronger form lines however (5) ZEALOUSLY gets in with 6kg less weight & will be suited by the firm footing (scratched last week due to track downgrade). (1) FRONT PAGE has the class winning a Group 2 last prep amongst other career highlights, can bounce back from the first up Kosciuszko defeat. Can’t overlook the first up record of (2) A LITTLE DEEP who is 4 from 4 & in one of the country’s leading stables. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet: ZEALOUSLY EACH-WAY. RACE 8 Maximum field of 20 set to lock horns in the Group 3 Festival Stakes. The Joe Pride yard is just going from strength to strength at present & I’m looking for (4) ACCREDITED to keep the run going. An absolute model of consistency he’s had the two runs back from a break resulting in second placed finishes in good quality races, with a touch of luck from the awkward draw he can go one better today. From an inside draw don’t be surprised to see (1) ROBUSTO improve plenty, he’ll likely end up with the box seat run. Suggest (10) YORKSHIRE can bounce back off the first up run when well beaten, cardiac arrythmia was found to be the issue & most horses bounce back from that very strongly at their next outings. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 10 – 18 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 9 (8) IMPERIALIST’s record once he gets around this distance range is a very good one & his last start second behind the smart Wootton Verni is certainly good enough to give this a decent shake. Too strong with the big weight at Taree the run prior he’ll land a good run from an ideal gate & can present at the right time. (14) SHANGRI LA SPRING will find this a lot easier than the Golden Eagle last start, Silver Eagle run was a good one. (9) REDSTONE WELL an improver third-up, also comes out of the Wootton Verni race last start. Numbers: 8 – 14 – 9 – 11 Suggested Bet: IMPERIALIST EACH-WAY. RACE 10 (2) FROSTY GIRL would have been a very, very well fancied favourite here however she’s come out on Thursday unfortunately (vets’ certificate). Can’t knock winning form which leads me to the flying (4) MAID OF MOOLAH who is 3 from 3 this prep. Strongly challenged in the straight at Newcastle last start I loved the way she dug in responding with a big kick to move clear of her rivals. She’ll give her all again today. (1) BELLA MONTAGNA resumes, suited over further however classy enough to figure in this finish. (6) COVERT THINKING another resuming, very consistent, next best. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet: MAID OF MOOLAH EACH-WAY. Market Market
