RACE 6 No.12 Fireburn

Overcame difficulties to score a runaway win in the Golden Slipper and can only be suited by the step up distance of the Sires Produce on Saturday. She lost anywhere between 1-2 lengths when checked near the 800m yet picked herself up and with Brenton Avdulla steering her through nearer the inside she raced right away the final 100m of the race. Note she’s 2 from 2 on the heavy also!

RACE 7 No.1 Hitotsu

Absolute ripper this colt from the Maher/Eustace yard who won the Victoria Derby in the spring off a similar lead-up (had one additional run). He went from 1600m to the 2500m racing clear on that occasion, this time around he’s 1600m up to 2400m. Yes the unknown is the heavy ground however his sire Maurice’s stocks to date have handled the going well. Happy to stick with him.

RACE 10 No.7 Me Me Lagarde

Yes, there’s a bit against her first up (barrier, going) however she has done absolutely nothing wrong and from what she’s shown us on the track she just might be good enough to overcome any obstacles standing in her way. She’s got a big, booming finish on her and has won on soft ground although it was only a 5 that day. Happy to have something on her each-way.
