Chris Nelson’s Friday Sunshine Coast Preview Posted on October 4, 2024October 4, 2024 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 1 Night racing on the Sunshine Coast on good ground with no rain on the horizon. Keen on the chances of TREVATT COURT in this opening race off a solid closing 2nd here on debut over 1000m. The step up to 1200m this evening is a logical progression, good gate should see her closer in the run & Kyle Wilson-Taylor will give her every chance to register win number one. Looking to the first starter WHEEPER to provide the main opposition, trials have been sound, monitor market moves. STARWARD in the mix as well, both outings have been close up efforts & will keep improving. Numbers: 16 – 9 – 8 – 11 Suggested Bet: TREVATT COURT TO WIN. RACE 2 Looks a race where the market will be a very good guide. We have a first starter at the top ASHANKO who has trialled well however has to deal with a wide draw. Newcomer to the area PEACEFUL PRINCE is now with the Vandyke yard ex Annabel Neasham, close up 2nd in a recent trial run here & the Kelly Schweida trained DEEP TIARA rounds out the main hopes on paper. She’s been off the scene for a year, peaked late in her recent trial, may be spot on for this? Whichever has the support is the one I’d be following in. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet: Market all important. Follow any support for the top 3 selections. RACE 3 HELL AND BACK is a speedy customer drawn the inside gate, he really should find the front & at his two prior first up attempts he’s finished in the placings. Soft recent trial beaten less than 3 lengths he should give a sight here. MY NAME IS makes his local debut having formerly raced under the Anthony & Sam Freedman banner, very good form down south & if on song likely wins this, BIG market watch. ARISPHERE & PINK CASHMERE both in with chances, the former will need luck from a poor gate. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet: HELL AND BACK/MY NAME IS TO WIN/Monitor market leads. RACE 4 CRYPTIC PRISM is the runner in the race with no convictions, his opposition, well most have many. I’d suggest rising to 1200m in a race where there doesn’t look a lot of speed Cody Collis may push on & look to find a spot, I hope that’s the case. HILL BILLY FLYER had excuses last start, can bounce back from the inside draw. WHISKEY AND BEER draws well, improvement likely. Numbers: 8 – 1 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet: CRYPTIC PRISM TO WIN. RACE 5 ARAMINTA may be looking for further than 1200m second up however drawn the inside gate she’s every chance of taking up a forward position & from there should be close enough to strike. She’s no star however she is consistent & can get away with this. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the market moves around LA COMETA who has only had a handful of starts, connections had a high enough opinion of her to send her around in a Listed race before spelling. BADDA BOOM BABY should have finished closer behind the in form Lost His beans last start. Include 6 & 9 in quaddies. Numbers: 5 – 13 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet: Box up top 4 selections in exotics. RACE 6 DIANA’S AFFAIR has plenty of weight to carry in this Class 3 Plate however he’s busting to win a race & Jimmy Orman should be able to give him an economical run conserving energy presenting at the right time. He’s run three consecutive thirds all solid efforts, he likes this track & is a winner over 1800m. ULTIMATE OUTCOME is close, could have had him on top if not for the awkward draw, really shapes as he’s looking for this trip now. GLEN MASSEY is a one batter. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet: DIANA’S AFFAIR/ULTIMATE OUTCOME TO WIN. RACE 7 MERCHANT FLYER was very impressive winning the final race here last Sunday & he looks set to win the last tonight as well. Jimmy Orman just cut him loose on the turn & the race was pretty much over soon after as he reeled in the leaders before racing right away to score by almost 4L. Doubt this is much harder, if any. SILVER PEARL has had two starts back off a long break & hasn’t been far away at either, did miss the kick the latest, expect improvement from HOLY FLASH. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet: MERCHANT FLYER TO WIN. Market Market
