Scott Embry’s Saturday Moora Preview Posted on October 4, 2024October 4, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 MARCHING was a tough watch at Mt Magnet when everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. Forgive, forget and follow up as we head to Moora and with a set of visors going on hopefully he’ll step cleanly which will give Kate Pateman will more options early. JATS ran well at Toodyay behind Hoochie Gucci and Fire The Guard who ran well at Kalgoorlie on Wednesday. DIXIE PRINCESS has speed to burn and on the fresh side could be on a jump and run mission. EXMOUTH GULF was a nice enough trial behind debut winner Golden Dore. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – MARCHING WIN RACE 2 RED REBEL has been a friend of punters all preparation since joining Darryn Pateman and won again in the Carnarvon Sprint when showing a bit of versatility when settling off speed and pulling away for a big win. 62kg is an ask but he’s got the speed to lead them if they so desire and now if crossed he can win from off speed too. BIN SHALAA won her first race for Anthony Barton last start at Newman 5 weeks ago. No reason she can’t win again. SEND IT SON held his own in the trial behind Spice Is Right. TOMMY TO JACK is no stranger to Moora. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – RED REBEL WIN RACE 3 WASN’T ME had four runs for Steph Bakranich and they all had merit. Returns to Greg Wright, has the speed to hold a prominent spot and returns to Moora where he did run well into third in a maiden previously. LE GRAND JEU went around at Toodyay last start and nothing was ever beating Bill Selects in the run but he did a good enough job to whack away into second to suggest that he’s the one to beat. Leaders back is tough, three back the fence is even tougher. ROO LORD doesn’t have much gate speed so likely settles rearwards in a larger field but he can sustain a run out wide from a long way out. DESERT SLEEVE next. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – WASN’T ME WIN RACE 4 ROCK OF KAHA was only fair last start at Toodyay but won’t get many better opportunities than this to be ridden like the best horse in the race, sustain a run from the 600 and really be put into the race. He’s got class on most of these. ORTUM KRISP can kick through into a prominent spot and was backed into favourite last start at Mt Magnet. MONG KHON will need a new rider but provided they find one is a winning chance in shades. GONDRINKIN broke his maiden in a 48+ at Junction 4 weeks ago and if he produces that effort he can go close again. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 7 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROCK OF KAHA WIN RACE 5 KENTUCKY BLUE put on a galloping exhibition in the Mt Magnet Cup to give rider Kristy Bennett Magnet Cups in 2022, 2023 & 2024. He absolutely romped in and was the winner from the 600m marker onwards. Has promised to do that all preparation and hopefully can hold that form now. OMBUDSMAN has had a long preparation but his Broome Cup / Carnarvon Cup form is superior to the majority of these. REGAL CITY can jump and run and after the claim for Amy Hayes looks well placed. HAFEY made a sweeping run in the Toodyay Cup but it all came undone late. Shades come off here. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – KENTUCKY BLUE WIN RACE 6 WOJTEK hasn’t raced for 7 weeks and comes into this nice and fresh. He’s got speed to burn and expect that Kristo Sardelic will be given licence to let him stride and turn it into a high speed, high pressure contest. Looks winnable for him. SOARING SOLO comes right back in distance. Grass form is solid. ESCALATING loves Landor – very hard to line up that form to Moora but winning with 71kg is tough regardless. FASCINATION might be a 9 year old but he can still show grit from time to time. Numbers: 6 – 8 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – WOJTEK WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,2,3,4 1,4,6,7 1,3,6 3,4,5,6,7,8 Market Market
