RACE 3 No.5 Djukon

Two very good efforts from as many starts this time in from this Chris Waller trained import who looks very well placed on Saturday. Spotted him making late ground first up before being held up for a run in the straight at his latest outing winding up only a length behind the winner Kukeracha in the Tails at Doomben. Gets out to a more favourable longer trip now.

RACE 4 No.10 Startantes

Cracking filly from the Rob Heathcote yard who looks so well placed back to her own age on Saturday. Thought she was excellent in the Group 2 WFA Victory Stakes here a fortnight ago running home strongly from near last to beat all bar the first three home. Rising to 1400m she’s won here and handles the soft ground well, this looks her race.

RACE 7 No.8 Southern Stock

Going for one at odds to upset the favourites in tomorrow’s Group 3 Queensland Derby lead-up the Rough Habit Plate. I’m of the opinion there’s a few here including the well fancied pair Character and Dark Destroyer who are a risk stepping out to 2143m. That’s not the case with this one from the Munce yard who was very good late last start and will lap up the longer trip.
