Chris Nelson’s Doomben Best Bets Posted on September 13, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets RACE 4 No.4 Macewen Tony Gollan trained galloper who put in a cracking run first up closing strongly to just miss. Sent around a fortnight later at Eagle Farm he found himself in an unsuitably run race which developed into a sprint home making his task an impossible one. Love his inside draw tomorrow which will see him a lot closer in the run, he’ll be mowing down the opposition late! RACE 6 No.9 Frangipani Moon Often a barrier trial standout she hadn’t quite brought that form to the track however her past couple of runs suggest the penny has now dropped. She finished strongly to share the prize on Ekka Day before bolting to the front likely too soon at Eagle Farm last start when a sitting shot late. Drawn perfectly tomorrow she’ll be better suited with a later crack at the leaders. RACE 8 No.1 Auerbach Langhro will lead here however I don’t think this one from the Waller yard will be too far from the early action. Apart from one blemish two starts ago his form this prep has been very consistent winning over tomorrow’s track and distance three starts back. Comes out of higher rating races than others engaged here and looks well placed to improve on his impressive recent record.
