Chris’ Doomben Best Bets Posted on November 17, 2017 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Preview RACE 1 No.5 Monteux Very consistent stayer from the Chris Meagher yard who just appeared a run short here a fortnight back. He travelled well, struck the front early in the straight and looked like running away with it however was collared well before the post. Fitter tomorrow he can roll forward in a race which looks short on leaders and give the backmarkers plenty to run down. RACE 2 No.1 Only Wanna Sing Heathcote stable 2yo by the Group 1 winning sprinter Your Song who impressed on debut beating all bar the also impressive winner Ef Troop. No ‘official’ trials leading into that race suggests there’s plenty of improvement likely and note he did run a faster last 800m than Ef Troop. Slightly awkward gate tomorrow however with an ounce of luck will prove very hard to beat. RACE 7 No.5 Privlaka Another one from the Heathcote yard who put in the run of the day here last Saturday. Wide without cover on a hot speed he was entitled to fold right up in the straight (as his co on pacers did) however he fought it out right to the line only being run down by the winner Frespanol late. He should find a better spot tomorrow and only has to handle the 7 day back up to win.
