Deane’s Sunday Caulfield Best Bets Posted on September 29, 2017September 29, 2017 | Posted by Deane Lester Extra SuperPicks for Caulfield – Races 1 & 2 Race 1 Looks a very even race with a host of chances, however STEEL FROST has impressed with two recent wins in Adelaide and can measure up to this grade. SuperPick - Race 1 No. 5 STEEL FROST - Place Boost Race 2 SELENIA is one of my best bets of the day, should get a great run and can win at nice odds. SuperPick - Race 2 No. 11 SELENIA - Win Boost Deane Lester’s Best Bets RACE 2 NO. 11 SELENIA Talented mare SELENIA resumes from a spell when she contests the Mares Benchmark 90 Plate (1100m) and looks primed for a big first-up showing. The four year old didn’t manage a win last preparation but was highly competitive in good class fillies races. The Robbie Griffiths trained mare has trialled well on two occasions leading into this race and looks attractively weighted with only 52.5kg after the benefit of Ben Thompson’s 1.5kg allowance. She is drawn for a great run and makes plenty of appeal in a competitive race. SuperPick - Race 2 No. 11 SELENIA - Win Boost RACE 6 NO. 6 KEMENTARI The Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) promises to be an exciting race with the unbeaten ROYAL SYMPHONY striving for his 5th consecutive win and will start a short priced favourite, however KEMENTARI looks a great value chance at each way odds. The son of Lonhro showed promise in late autumn culminating in a dominant win over 1400 metres at Randwick on May 27. He resumed from a spell with a solid 4th behind MENARI in the Run To The Rose over 1200 metres at Rosehill on September 9. He will be fitter for that run, looks drawn for a good run and should relish the extra distance of this race. It’s a big challenge taking on ROYAL SYMPHONY, however KEMENTARI can run well and cause an upset. RACE 9 NO. 13 RICH CHARM RICH CHARM came of age last preparation winning his last three starts before a spell and can continue on his winning way when he runs in the Open Handicap (1100m). The five year old has trialled well on two occasions leading into this race and will be suited by a race run at a fast pace. Rider Patrick Moloney has form a terrific association with RICH CHARM and renews that association in this race. He has built a fine record of six wins from 14 starts and looks a strong chance to win his fourth consecutive race. Bet Now *A maximum of one SuperPick on an individual race. Available online only.
