Greg’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on February 24, 2017 | Posted by Greg Hooper Greg Hooper’s Preview RACE 1 ELEVEN SECONDS can find the front and give a terrific sight on the speed. The warm hot conditions should suit his style. I DONE IT is another who looks suited with the expected conditions. TARQUINN SHADOW beat a similar field last start. LET’S TWIST was scratched from a winnable race on Wednesday to be saved for this. Numbers – 4 – 3 – 1 – Suggested Bet – ELEVEN SECONDS AND I DONE IT RACE 2 The blinkers go on to GOLDEN TRIGGER which could assist him to find an extra length or two and post his maiden win. From gate 2 he should get all the favours on the speed. RIASC is the class runner of the race. Th wide gate and where he settles in running is the concern. DRIFTWOOD GIRL impressed last start beating the subsequent Magic Millions winner. EXPRESSELLA looked sharp in a recent trial win. Numbers – 3 – 2 – 1 -10 Suggested Bet – GOLDEN TRIGGER SAVE RIASC RACE 3 CONSEATED came of age last campaign posting a couple of impressive wins. She’s trialled well and should be ready to roll for this assignment. DIAMOND PRINCESS is suited with the drop in class and drop back to 1100m. She can give a big sight in front. UNIVERSAL MOON is hard to find but is racing well. PRESENTATIE looks the best of the closers. Numbers – 1 – 10 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CONSEATED SuperPick - Race 3 No. 1 CONSEATED - Money Back – Run 2nd RACE 4 BORDER SCOT is a capable sprinter who returns from a freshen-up. From gate 2 he can settle right behind the speed and get his chance for his maiden Saturday win. STAR GLITTER continues to race well and was scratched from Wednesday to be saved for this. The blinkers come off JUST ACT NATURAL which is an interesting gear change. He may get crossed from gate 1. TWELVE ROUNDS next best. Numbers – 1 – 4 – 2 – 10 Suggested Bet – BORDER SCOT AND STAR GLITTER RACE 5 GATTING has been terrific all campaign and he did a very a good job last start when dropping back from 1800m to 1200m and finishing in the placings although racing on inferior going. The mile looks ideal and he gets his chance to win at stakes level. GANGBUSTER has narrowly missed in both runs this campaign including last week’s Challenge Stakes which was a stronger race than this. He gets every chance from the good draw and appears the danger. VEUVE DE VEGA can lead and give a big sight again. WESTERN TEMPLE a place from gate 1. Suggested – 1 – 5 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – GATTING WIN RACE 6 This looks a wide open race. YEAH DARDY got the job done first-up albeit on protest. He did show plenty of fight finding the line again late despite receiving a couple of bumps. Jarrad Noske jumps on and from gate 3 he can lead or box seat. NEXT GENERATION couldn’t muster any early speed in the Magic Millions but was doing his best work late. If he can settle within striking distance he has claims. PATAPUS is a tough filly who settles right on the speed. BOUNCE DOWN is shooting for a wining hat trick however this is his acid test. Numbers – 12 – 3 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – YEAH DARDY WIN RACE 7 FALCON CREST should be primed third-up. He came up the wrong part of the track at Pinjarra and still ran well. POUNAMU is one of the form horses in the state. He can win again. ROSMARTINI should go forward and get it fairly cheaply on the speed. TONTO has big claims if he can repeat again. Numbers- 9 -7 – 4 -2 Suggested Bet – FALCON CREST WIN RACE 8 IT’S IT ran well first-up before never getting warm in the Cyril Flower. From a better draw he parks closer to the speed and goes close. The blinkers go onto SHADY GRAY and he drops back to a suitable trip. They are both big positives. RED PADDY will get off the speed and attack the line. AGARCHAR CRUZ has claims if he can cross from wide. Numbers – 4 – 13 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – IT’S IT AND SHADY GRAY [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2017-02-25/pr” linkrel=””]
