Michael McDermott’s Weekend Greyhound Preview Posted on February 24, 2017February 24, 2017 | Posted by Michael McDermott Mandurah Friday 24th February 2017 Race 3 – No. 6 Black Herc Was doing his best work late at massive odds behind a couple of real handy types in the Sandgroper Final last week. Dropping in distance but he has led all the way over this trip in the past and doesn’t mind a wide draw. Will win again sooner rather than later. Race 7 – No. 1 Max Profit Smooth mover who is on debut over the trip but he has won over the longer 520m at Cannington in the past. Unbeaten in 3 runs in red and while this is a handy line up, he’s sure to make his presence felt. Race 9 – No. 5 Howzat Ernie — SuperPick Profit Plus 25% (Place) Has improved at box rise in recent outings and while he hasn’t won, he hasn’t been far away either. The last time he exited this draw he led all the way in a solid 22.94 and is definitely worth a Place ticket at the very least. Bet Now! Cannington Saturday 25th February 2017 Race 3 – No. 4 Saint Lucia — SuperPick Money Back Run 2nd Exceptional beginner whose breeding suggests she’d get the trip, being a litter sister to Group 1 Perth Cup finalist Kid Kansas and recent city winner Not In Kansas. The whole of her opposition have gone months on end without topping the podium and she looks ready and capable of inflicting more pain if she jumps and runs at her Cannington debut. Race 5 – No. 2 Crashing Packs Appreciated the drop back this company last start when running a Career Best 30.22 and finishing 2nd behind FFA’er Who’s Got Class. He has been freshened up for this and draws well again. With a similar jump he may very well go one better tonight. Race 7 – No. 2 Woodvale Flyer Group 1 Galaxy placegetter who knocked off the Summer Chase final over 600m at her latest outing when leading all the way in a smart 34.92. The class runner of the field and it is hard to see any of these getting near her at the finish.
