Scott’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on February 1, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 VERMONT LADY always showed above average ability for Justin Warwick. New environment could be the key. INFERNAL STAR was not asked for an effort in a recent barrier trial. His debut run was strong. TYCOON LEGEND was well supported and hit the line hard in a race where they walked. VIZCAYA could surprise a few. Numbers 10 – 5 – 3 – 12 Suggested Bet –VERMONT LADY EACHWAY Race 2 ACTION was simply sensational first-up when battling to stay with the field for a large part of the race. If they can make ground should be too strong. PADDY’S SHADOW can roll forwards and sit outside the lead on a moderate tempo. HOODLUM THUNDER is looking for this trip and beyond. LUCKY ROAR should box seat. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – ACTION WIN Race 3 SUMMIT TRAIL leads without any pressure and should kick strongly at the top of the straight. SANDALWOOD has always promised a lot and looks to be finally putting it all together. GOMER WIPPLE is the class runner but may end up in an awkward position. RARE COIN won well last start and can go on with it. Numbers 10 – 9 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – SUMMIT TRAIL EACHWAY Race 4 FRIARESQUE was disappointing last start but that was his first attempt at a journey. This looks more suitable on paper. CAPPO D’ORO is fighting outside his weight division but should stride forwards to position outside the lead. JACKPOT PRINCE will need to sprint off a slow tempo here. COULEUR BIZARRE is very consistent and honest as they come. Numbers: 4 – 6 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – FRIARESQUE EACHWAY Race 5 VITAL DANCER has to speed across from an awkward gate to find a prominent position in running. He is classy at his best. REBELLIONAIRE has some X-factor about him and can go close fresh. VERY ANGRY GAL was enormous last weekend. VEXILLOID better suited at this trip. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – VITAL DANCER EACHWAY Race 6 DAINTY TESS will have to get back in running and lump a full 59kg but she is right in this race. CAIPIRINHA simply had to win the Miss Andretti on paper. She ran good time and should get things her own way again here. BATTLE HERO surprised most with his gate speed and cruising speed first-up. VOLKOFF from three back the fence next. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – DAINTY TESS WIN Race 7 COUGAR NIGHTS was enormous fresh after a super impressive trial. This is more than winnable. VEUVE DE VEGA produced a bold front running display last weekend. WEST FIFTY FOURTH looks a miler in the making. DOUBLE DIGIT has not shown much so far this preparation but is better than that. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 12 – 5 Suggested Bet – COUGAR NIGHTS EACHWAY Race 8 KAAPANDER backs up off an eye catcher last weekend and if Smith can jump the gates and lob anywhere near leader’s back he goes close. ROYAL MISSILE destroyed fairly moderate opposition first-up and will have a lot of traffic to negotiate here. MORE ACES was solidly supported last weekend and gave cheek in front. BELTER is drawn in a very awkward position. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – KAAPANDER EACHWAY Quaddie (Races 5 – 8) 2,3,5 1,2,5 FLD 1,7,8,10 [button class=”bet-now” style=”btn-default btn-lg” type=”link” target=”false” title=”Bet Now” link=”https://www.tabtouch.com.au/racing/2018-02-03/pr” linkrel=””]
