Caulfield 13 February – Thoroughbreds Preview Posted on February 12, 2016 | Posted by Deane Lester RACE 1 NO.3 TASHBEEH TASHBEEH has enjoyed a stellar summer campaign having won three of his past four starts and can continue on his winning way when he contests the Benchmark 96 Handicap (1800m). The four year old was very brave defeating the in-form SECOND BULLET over 2000 metres at Flemington on January 30 and the slight drop in distance is in his advantage. He is drawn for a cheap run and gets the benefit of in-form apprentice Dylan Dunn’s 2kg claim. In a field of horses that are battling to regain winning form, TASHBEEH stands out as the in-form horse of the race that should win again. RACE 5 NO.1 ECLAIR CHOICE ÉCLAIR CHOICE resumes from a spell when he runs in the Rubiton Stakes (1100m) and appeals as a great winning chance at each way odds. The four year old was very solid during his spring campaign, dead-heating for a win in the Caulfield Sprint (1000m) before a dominant win in the Yellowglen Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on Derby Day. A recent trial in Adelaide would suggest that he is in good form leading into this race and he should enjoy a cheap run behind the leaders from barrier two. ÉCLAIR CHOICE is a very genuine sprinter and another bold showing can be expected. RACE 7 NO.7 TURN ME LOOSE The feature race of the day is the C.F.Orr Stakes (1400m) and TURN ME LOOSE is well placed for back-to-back wins at group one level. The Murray Baker trained stallion cut a swathe through the mile races over spring, starting with a dominant win in the Seymour Cup on October 18 before backing up to win the Crystal Mile at Moonee Valley on October 24. He then stepped to the elite level and proved too strong in the Emirates Stakes on November 7. He has a great racing style in that he makes his own luck and is a real fighter late in his races. This race sets up well for him to win again and TURN ME LOOSE looks the best bet of the day. Bet Now!
