David Shortte’s Friday Mandurah Preview Posted on October 30, 2026October 30, 2026 | Posted by David Shortte Meeting Overview A high quality 9 race program highlighted by three heats of the Holiday Coast Series over 400 metres, an intriguing middle distance race over the 601 metres and a nice Free For All over the 488 metres. This is a program with a number of short priced favourites who look difficult to oppose – we may get a little inventive with some betting plays to try and get some value out of the card. The Holiday Coast series are chock full of quality – Below are my thoughts for each heat : Tips for Race 4 the Fuller Fitness Holiday Coast Series Heat 1 1st – 2 Just a Piastri 2nd – 5 Rusty Rocket 3rd – 8 Rigatoni Monelli 4th – 1 Sunset Agrippina Tips for Race 5 the Get Your Quaddie On Holiday Coast Series Heat 2 1st – 1 Hudson 2nd – 7 Mabel Monelli 3rd – 2 Pursuit Special 4th – 4 Hong Kong Phooey Tips for Race 6 the Signup WA Holiday Coast Series Heat 3 1st – 1 Intimidation 2nd – 8 Sunset Goddess 3rd – 7 Aston Nero 4th – 4 Jaffa’s Monelli Best Bets Race 2 – No.8 TOURIGA : Up and coming stayer who has been mighty impressive in winning 6 of his last 8 starts, including 3 of them over the 601 metres at Cannington. As long as he handles the first look out of these boxes should zoom forward and be very hard to run down. The greyhound drawn in box 1 Max Capacity will be very strong late and looms as the clear threat while Fernadale Flyer and Lightning Byte can be included for the skinny end of the prize at longer odds. Race 3- No.6 LITTLE SKITTLES : Elite young sprinter who has won her last 4 in a row in slick times and generally explodes at box rise. The greyhound drawn in box 8 Rad Ripper has opened up very short in the market and will take plenty of stopping but it has been beaten at very trim odds at 2 of his last 4 and if he doesn’t get the start right Little Skittles could be off and gone with the prize. I’m happy to back Little Skittles at the much better price and then take Novelties with 6 and 8 to run 1st and 2nd as my cover play. MULTI : 4-2 Just A Piastri win in to 6-1 Intimidation win in to 8-4 Dottie Keeping win : All three of these selections are trim in the market but look really hard to beat. I’ll be taking them in Multis, taking them one out in Quaddies and banking them to win in Trifecta and First Four bets.
