Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Flemington Preview Posted on October 29, 2026October 30, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 Big run from STAR OF MACEDON with the pattern against stepping up in grade last start. Bigger track and rise in distance are in his favour, open race, one of the key hopes. HIGH FALLS has been placed aggressively for his 2nd race start after bolting in on his home track, respect the stable enough to think he can measure up. UNHINGED brings winning form from Sydney, hard to line up, market moves important. MISTER WHISKERS enjoyed a soft lead to win at Caulfield, again a race without much pressure, some hope to repeat. Selections: 7,3,2,1 Suggested Bet: STAR OF MACEDON win Race 2 Strong speed expected for the fillies over 1400m. The speed suits REGAL AMBITION most due to her pattern, received a tactically brilliant ride at Caulfield to win two back then made ground at the mile last start, back to 1400m is a bonus. AFFARI was an impressive maiden winner in Sydney and is one of the key speed horses, YOUMZAA comes through a strong form race at Geelong and won her maiden at Cranbourne in another competitive field, jumped out between runs and has minor money claims. BEAUTIFUL YOU back to 1400m suits after one-batting on heavy at the mile, another coming off a jumpout between runs. Selections: 1,3,9,5 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 3 Can put a line through a number of these. ICELADY can go straight to the front which should be an advantage in this field and any rain around would help, 1600-2000m first time but right stable. Giving CHURCHILL ROSE a big shout, led up a slow 1800m in the Hill Stakes and had more left when challenged and fought back in 2nd. Williams aboard and 2000m should be ideal. DE ARMAS brings the best form lines and goes to 2000m first time, query at the distance. If JMAC can overcome the draw on YOUR COLOUR she profiles well for this. Selections: 6,1,3,5 Suggested Bet: CHURCHILL ROSE 1 x 4 Race 4 HANKEE ALPHA was enormous sprinting quickly to win in fast time at her Australian debut, again has rain forecast, jumpout between runs will have her primed to repeat the effort in this deeper race. SWEYNESDAY has form around HANKEE ALPHA in New Zealand and was home in fast sectionals at his Australian debut, with more speed engaged he can figure if he handles straight line racing. Love what MERIDIUS has been doing at the jumpouts and races well fresh, drawn out which may prove an advantage on the day worth monitoring. GALLANT SON performs best up the straight and has B Shinn from a low draw, another to watch the pattern with. Selections: 20,5,8,6 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 5 Toughest race of the day. If the weather comes in PERSIAN SPIRIT will have fans, STEPARTY beat him home at Caulfield first-up after some nice trials leading in, long time without a win, stable going super but has an ugly gate from the 1400m starting point. HUGHES was enormous fresh and had jumped out well, needs it bone dry to be at his best and winning this so a watch on the weather. CAFE MILLENIUM reunites with Emily Pozman and liked his recent Flem jumpout, best form is competitive. WELWAL goes ok fresh and should be smoking home from the rear. Selections: 12,11,10,9 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 6 (Best Value) An even speed only and may come down to who can quicken best, ST GOTTHARD draws the middle gate and has options, freshened since running into Warwoven in the Golden Rose and jumped out well up the straight to prepare. His biggest threat is THE NEXT EPISODE had conditions to suit but still needed to dig in to win the Danehill, not sure that’s the right form reference. SATONO GLOW ran a career best chasing down PARADOXIUM in the Roman Consul, space between runs can only benefit and straight line experience is important. Selections: 5,1,13,14 Suggested Bet: ST GOTTHARD win Race 7 (Best Bet) Open edition of the Victoria Derby, value in the race is ICY YOU, had a terrific prep with everything aimed at this race since breaking his maiden at Echuca over 1600m, may lack the class of some but he’s dour and will stick on. Stablemate CIGNETTI is similar that’s been on this path since breaking his maide, hasn’t always been ridden to advantage in lead-ups and is one who can take position early. Visiting CORMIER by Maurice is a big watch if the rain comes, out of a strong race last start in the Spring Champion and should get the trip on breeding. SKUA led up at a strong tempo here last start and brave in defeat, in the right stable to continue on. Selections: 9,8,1,7 Suggested Bet: ICY YOU 1 x 3 – Target race third-up ready to peak and has the pace on to suit her pattern Race 8 Best Bet CONCORD CONNIE has a chance to repeat her monstrous win here in May, first-up run had excuses crabbing around Mornington then everything against at Caulfield. This appears a target race third-up with a hot speed anticipated. LADY SHENANDOAH is proper G1 quality and hasn’t always had the best of luck, well-backed and too good in the Toorak Hcp. Freshened since, watch betting. SURFIN’ BIRD chasing the hat-trick, stalked a good speed last start to win, again rides the speed, more pressure this time from SASS APPEAL and PILLOW FIGHT. Selections: 10,1,3,5 Suggested Bet: CONCORD CONNIE win Race 9 FLYING FOR FUN is the starting point, he has a wicked turn of speed and straight line experience, she does find a straight race with plenty of speed and should find clear running drawn out wide on the track. The race opens right up behind her, BRIDAL WALTZ is holding her form, she was up and going early, hard to see any improvement. GEEGEES MISTRUTH was heavily backed and blew the start at Caulfield, prefer her at Caulfield and needs to jump with them. INKARUNA is a good straight line horse and has strong form lines. Not without a hope at odds. Selections: 4,10,1,3 Suggested Bet: FLYING FOR FUN win MULTI: R1#7 place, R5#5 place, R8#4 win
