Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview

Race 1

SUNNYS LITTLE ROSE (4) has the speed to bounce on the lead here and be very hard to run down, she has come back well and will be suited on speed, and fitness should be reaching the top, hard to beat. JUSTLIKEFLAIR (2) has the nice draw, and early speed is the only query but can be close enough and dangerous. LOTS OF CHANGE (9) was a nice effort last time out and should come on from that but will require a touch of luck from the draw. LAVRADORE (5) had every chance last time out and can float around the novelties in this with SKY EAGLE (6) who has been racing well and SELLUNE (7) will be running on.

Suggested Bet: SUNNYS LITTLE ROSE (4) to win.

Race 2

UMBERTO (9) has been eye catching with both runs and, on both occasions, he has been luckless, looks suited at this track and will be booming home strongly in this. CRUNCHLOVER (1) has nothing on race form that you could suggest but the horse has shown good promise in trials and Stuart McDonald does a good job with his small team, expect a strong run first up off no trial. JIMMYS RAINBOW (4) was brilliant in defeat two starts ago and then last start was plain over the mile, mixing his form but is very consistent. THE BELL HUEY (6) was encouraging last run and is heading in the right direction but looks more of a place to novelty chance from the draw.

Suggested Bet: UMBERTO (9) to win.

Race 3 (Best Bet)

INTHEHEARTOFTEXAS (2) was ultra impressive in a recent trial making good ground in a good last half with a fast run mile rate, nice draw and will be close enough and looks ominous. STELLAR MAN (1) was a better effort last run and is advantaged by the draw and looks the main danger. PROFIT SHARE (3) is shorter in the market more because of the trainer/driver combination than it is on form, can improve but wouldn’t be diving in too short. HIGH STAKES KING (6) has shown good promise but faces a difficult draw, looks a novelty chance with MAKIN DUST (8), WERE IN CAHOOTS (9), MANHATTAN MIKI (11) and ZILLIONAIRE (12).

Suggested Bet: INTHEHEARTOFTEXAS (2) to win.

Race 4

Open event but I thought SMOKEYS SHADOW (6) had a few ways he could win this, he has good early speed and would be hard to run down if he was able to cross, expect him to be dangerous in this. OAKLEY (4) is racing consistently and is nearing a win, should be in the thick of it. EASTON QUALITY (3) may look to use her early speed to try and step around the inside runners and be handy. GLOBAL HERITAGE (5) was good last start and needs a cuddle up before getting home well, HOOAH (7) needs luck from the draw. CROWDED REACTOR (8) doesn’t read up that crash hot for him map wise. CARA DIANA (9) and VINTAGE BLU (10) novelty chances.

Suggested Bet: SMOKEYS SHADOW (6) each way.

Race 5

IDEAL INTEREST (7) is racing well, and this looks a drop in grade but faces a tough draw, could push the button early and look to get on speed and looks a chance in a deep race. SYNCHRONIZER (6) comes out of winning a lightning lap and has some early speed, steps up to the middle distance but is holding good consistency. RECOVER LOVER (2) has the nice draw and speed to lead, usually takes a softer approach after that at this distance and will settle close enough. SOUND WAVE (12) racing well for this but faces the challenging draw. CALL TO ARMS (8) will be running on when the gaps come and MAD PUNTA (5) rises in grade from a tricky draw.

Suggested Bet: IDEAL INTEREST (7) each way.

Race 6

ISEEUBABY (5) can run an exceptional mile but needs to be able to work to the top, if she was able to lead, she will justify favouritism and be very hard to beat. GULLY GUM (2) looks the potential leader early and will have options from there, did too much last run and weakened but prior form was good. HILLVIEW BONDI (7) likely to be up outside the speed but it looks a bit hot and might not be the best position to be in. INSTA GATOR (11) and DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (10) and ALTA ALLURE (12) will be running on strongly; they all have good closing speed. DREAM CONTROL (1) has a nice draw and loves the mile, benefited by the first up effort.

Suggested Bet: INSTA GATOR (11) each way.

Race 7

CODENAME MARCUS (12) trialled in top fashion before a good first up effort, needs a safe getaway but looks suited at Pinjarra to wind up and be very dangerous in an open edition of the Don Randall Memorial. SEASIDE POND (4) has proven to be a standing start performer and was a solid effort two starts ago, looks the testing material in this. ARTFUL MAJOR (14) performs well in the stands and looks to be running on, solid effort last time out and has made a stable change. TIGER ROYAL (13) is better suited in the stand and has good closing speed. Novelty chances to ROCK ME OVER (5), LORD TITANIUM (6), BEAT THE BANK (7) and FRANCO MECCA (10). MIGHTY MAGICIAN (11) was solid last time out but rises in grade.

Tips: 12 4 13 14

Suggested Bet: CODENAME MARCUS (12) each way.

Race 8

GELSOMINO AMAL (4) was impressive in her debut for the new camp and looks hard to hold out here again, some speed to her inside but she is versatile and will run well. CHERRY ON THE CAKE (2) has the speed to get to the top and usually likes to lead. ME FLASH (5) will be heading forward and returned well, likes to be on speed and should be around the mark. FLOAT MY BOAT (6) needs luck from the draw but is racing with good consistency. SPIRIT OF SAHARA (9) should get a good run through and be close enough to continue the solid form. SHECANPLAY (1) is a novelty chance from the draw with SUPREMEDREAM (3) returning and has ability.

Suggested Bet: GELSOMINO AMAL (4) to win.

Race 9

WINTER SURGE (1) has continued to impress and improve with every run and comes up with the good draw, only lightly raced but has a heap of talent and is going to be hard to beat again in this race. TEXAS BANNER (6) drops out from racing some of the best 3yo’s in the state and must be respected in this, will get a good understanding about the horse after today’s run. MA PETITE DAME (8) has the perfect draw and is racing better than numerical form suggests, could be dangerous late. METHUSELAH (2) drawn to be close enough and has ability with other chances to MY MACHANE (4) and IDEAL DIAMOND (10).
