Matt Young’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on April 16, 2026April 16, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 JUSTASMOOTH MIKI (7) looks perfectly placed to get the victory here, has the versatility and takes a big step down in grade and should get the job done. IN FULL FLIGHT (6) was a solid return behind the highly talented Skyhigh Adda, will be right in the money in this. KOH I NOOR CAMEL (5) is racing soundly and looks the next best and decent novelty chance with SHOOBEES BOMB (1) is a novelty being second up from a break. Tips: 7 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: JUSTASMOOTH MIKI/IN FULL FLIGHT to Exacta. Race 2 RUBY TREASURE (2) was placed third behind Captain Cooper who looks to have plenty of talent, this grade looks perfect and should be fitter for the first up run and another trial after doing things wrong, looks hard to beat. PAPPINBARRA LADY (1) is nicely drawn but lacks early speed so if she can settle close enough, she could be dangerous. DOWN TENNESSEE (5) is one of the few who can do work in the race and could end up in the breeze and stick on well. PURELY PANDEMIC (6) is hot and cold but can get into the money. CAPPY THE FIREY (7) chances hang on the fate of the pole marker early. Tips: 2 5 1 6 Suggested Bet: RUBY TREASURE (2) to win. Race 3 Open race. UNDER THE ALTA (10) won well last run and has started to hit a purple patch of form and he will be put into the race and looks to be hard to hold out, major player. AMERICAN EYES (6) has shown promise and won well on debut, will be better for the run experience wise and looks a solid chance but has the tough draw. LORD PUBLISHER (9) is capable and drops in grade, will be running on strongly. SHESA ENCHANTRESS (3) was brave last time out, and this will be a good test, looks a novelty chance with KINSAABI (4), HONOUR THE EAGLE (5) and KOLISI (8). Tips: 10 6 9 8 Suggested Bet: UNDER THE ALTA (10) to win. Race 4 KOPPER KOTE (5) didn’t have much luck last time out and over the short course may bump into a few problems in getting forward but if he could get into a dominating position I think he can win. HUGHEY (6) has good high speed and can see him getting back and powering home strongly, he doesn’t win out of turn but might just be too quick from them in the smaller field. MONEY WELL SPENT (4) had every chance last time out and no guarantee of finding the front again. EASTON QUALITY (3) capable but disappointed last time out but is a novelty chance with HEAD OFFICE (2) and SPEED FORCE (7). Tips: 6 5 4 7 Suggested Bet: HUGHEY (6) to win. Race 5 DIAMOND BAY (7) has taken the next step and is looking incredibly hard to beat in this, she can watch things unfold early and then be put into the race and expecting her to be hard to hold out. SKIPPIN CLASS (2) had no luck last time out but run prior was solid, has good early speed and should lead and has options, expecting a solid performance. THE WAND WAVER (6) was slightly disappointing last time out but looks a chance to bounce back, tricky draw for her and NEVERTELLMETHEODDS (3), HOT ROD (4) and IDEAL TOMADO (5) who drops in grade. Tips: 7 2 6 5 Suggested Bet: SKIPPIN CLASS (2) each way. Race 6 Race to the first turn and I think we could see the best version of JILL MACH (4) here, her run in the race for roses was solid after missing start and that is a rarity, looks well placed and think she can get the win. BREWERY LANE (5) bombed the start last time out which is also incredibly rare, prefer him at the shorter trip but if he bounced on the lead, he becomes the one to catch. GOLD HORSESHOE (7) is a consistent type who must be respected after being placed at Pinjarra. STRIKING A DEAL (2) could be an improver with a safe getaway, form is better than it reads and I SEE FIRE (3) is a novelty chance with BOBBY WATERHOUSE (6). Tips: 4 5 7 2 Suggested Bet: JILL MACH (4) to win. Race 7 TEMPT THE STARS (5) has been knocking on the door and looks hard to beat but it just looks a little tricky about how victory is achieved map wise. CHALKY WHITE (6) has had a couple of tough runs but overall form is solid enough to be a winning chance in this grade. SANFORD BART (2) has the draw to potentially lead and look to improve. SHES ALL GO (3) is a head scratcher form wise; best is good enough. CAPTURE THE MOMENT (4) was better last time out but faces a tricky draw and GALEOCERDO CUVIER (8) is good enough to get into the money. Tips: 5 6 2 8 Suggested Bet: TEMPT THE STARS (5) to win.
