Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 23, 2026February 23, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Open maiden to kick things off. LUNAR MISS (2) was decent on return and showed good early speed, looks the potential leader and can be further improved on fitness and looks a strong chance in this. TATTER TAILS (10) likely to be short but faces a challenging draw and looks a bit green at this stage and has his few look at headquarters. PAPPINBARRA LADY (1) wasn’t a bad effort from a tough draw last time out, early speed a concern but shouldn’t be too far away. MIDWIFE CALLING (4) has improved and is a novelty chance with SUPREME RHAPSODY (5), STARANNA (6) and PURELY PANDEMIC (9). Tips: 2 10 1 6 Suggested Bet: LUNAR MISS (2) each way. Race 2 CIGANDA (5) has the early speed to burn across and lead, she has been racing well being driven more conservatively in recent runs but over the mile she could ping to the lead and be hard to run down. GRACEFUL SHARK (2) has been consistent this time in and must be respected, early speed is just sound so needs to get as forward as she can. CASSINI BELLE (3) can bounce back after a disappointing recent effort. WESMEDAD (7) can do some work and stick on. DIAMOND BAY (8) is capable on return and trialled well, draw is challenging but has some class. AMERICAN TYPHOON (10) up in grade and has novelty claims with stable mate ELLEOFARECTOR (6). Tips: 5 2 8 3 Suggested Bet: CIGANDA (5) to win. Race 3 ART IDEAL (9) has looked sharp in recent trials but been on the keen side, the trials have been against some nice types and looks a great chance in this grade. THE BETTOR SIDE (5) has well and truly entered bridesmaid territory after stringing 5 of his last 6 runs in second place. MISS UNEEK (4) didn’t have much luck first up and has some early speed, fitter and can run well here. BASINGHALL (3) is capable but can really undulate his form. HEZ SPECIAL (6) racing soundly and falls into novelty contention. Tips: 9 5 4 3 Suggested Bet: ART IDEAL (9) to win. Race 4 SEBASTIAN JAMES (8) has strings to his bow and had to do too much work last time out when beaten narrowly by the in-form Diamond World, he can watch things unfold here and looks hard to hold out as his versatility gives him many ways to win. BEAT THE BANK (2) has some early speed and will be looking to lead again, narrowly beaten by LOUIE LEBEAU (7) on Friday and they meet again here from similar draws. TERROR IN TEXAS (9) was solid in his return run, that’ll bring him on nicely. MIDDLEPAGE (4) is capable in this grade. WICKED HUSTLER (5) is like that horse in a mix of form and EKARA NAVAJO (3) could improve. Tips: 8 9 7 2 Suggested Bet: SEBASTIAN JAMES (8) to win. Race 5 BLITZAR (7) has returned well and now third up into the preparation looks very hard to beat, he is versatile and can head forward and be close to the speed, should go close. MONTERIO (4) is suited in this grade but is finding it hard to break through. SPLASH OF CASH (9) must overcome a tough draw but can roll into it and stay on well. CIAO BABE (1) a nice draw to be in novelty contention with GALVINSTON JOHN (10) and BY GEE BY JINGO (8) will be running on. Tips: 7 4 9 8 Suggested Bet: BLITZAR (7) to win. Race 6 IL BANDITO (1) has the draw and contacted the gate Friday and broke up, happy to let the horse off for that, he is a good beginner as a rule and looks the leader and will be hard to run down. POCKETFUL OF OPALS (2) will get the run of the race and that could be the big difference here, hit the line well in good time at Albany on Friday night and this looks suitable. ROCKABILITY (6) was a nice effort last time out and is improving, keep safe here. FIORD (4) can run on and is a novelty hope with OHOKA TITAN (5) who has raced better but is first up in nearly 4 years. Tips: 2 1 6 4 Suggested Bet: POCKETFUL OF OPALS (2) each way. Race 7 LUKES MISTAKE (2) how do you go past him after a brilliant second on Friday night, expecting him to lead and run along again and make it incredibly hard for the back markers and can go one better here. BET ON THE RIVER (3) is a good standing start type and could jump into a good position and tempo will suit him if he gets the right run, could be dangerous. ECLIPSE LINE (7) found it harder when not on speed last time out, respect but faces a handicap again. ELDAYTONA (8) is talented in this grade but 60m is never easy, it’s a bigger handicap on the top selection than Friday. LONGREACH BAY (9) looks nearly handicapped out of it based on the times they could run off the front. GETN WIGGY WITHIT (4) will improve and be running on with SOUND WAVE (6). Tips: 2 3 4 6 Suggested Bet: LUKES MISTAKE (2) to win Race 8 ROSIES BETTOR (8) is a nice type who must overcome a tricky draw but think she has a bit of talent and can get on the board here, looks very hard to beat. DELTARIFFIC (9) has been racing well, narrowly beaten last time out after a good drive to get him back to the sprint lane. TRICKY TEXAS (7) trialled well and must be respected, keep safe. JUSTASMOOTH MIKI (1) has the nice draw and can be handy to them and trialled up soundly. MISS TRIBECA (4) improved nicely from trials to races and was placed in good time, respect and look for further improvement. Tips: 8 9 7 4 Suggested Bet: ROSIES BETTOR (8) to win. Race 9 ROMAN GUARD (5) was a solid third in his second career start, showed good gate speed there and this grade looks the easiest assignment he has faced and expecting him to be on speed and hard to beat. CHRYSOSTOM (8) is mixing form but this grade suits and looks a major player, lacks a bit of top end speed, was very disappointing last time out. RAVENOUS (6) trialled up well and has high speed, respect as a chance in this. Novelty chances to 1,2 and 4. Tips: 5 8 6 4 Suggested Bet: ROMAN GUARD (5) to win. Market Market
