Matt Young’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 19, 2026February 20, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Tough race to open. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (5) is suited in this grade and likely rolls forward out of the gate and settles close to the speed, consistent performer and should be right in the money. GREVIS (12) needs a few things to go his way but has been racing well and this grade suits but he is a sniper. GIRL OF BRIGHTNESS (2) has improved every run in and although a slowly run race last time out, she hit the line well. AMERICAN MONARCH (1) can improve from the pole but is taking a while to wind back up to her best. Novelty chances to GOGGINS (3), RELLIM (7) and SPUDMEISTER (10). Tips: 5 2 12 1 Suggested Bet: ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (5) to win. Race 2 SPITFIRE (8) creates a lot of interest and has come out of some strong races, with a strong stable and they are normally presented ready to run, looks hard to hold out. ALLWOOD MACH (4) is a nice type who is second up, things didn’t go his way first up and could settle close to the speed and is the likely value in the event. CEE DEE THREE (7) is a talented type on return, draw is challenging but he is versatile, keep safe. DOURADO (9) was a solid run in the Northam Cup, draw hurts but looks one of the key chances, wouldn’t want to be diving in short. HUGHEY (1) a novelty chance with THE RIGHTEOUS (2) and ROCKSTAR QUALITY (3). Tips: 8 4 9 7 Suggested Bet: ALLWOOD MACH (4) each way. Race 3 RESET THE BAR (4) comes in first up from the powerful Gary Hall Snr stable and looks to be one of the key chances, we know the stable have their horses ready to go first up and the form reads up well. ELWADDELL (12) has a tougher draw to work with but is racing well. LORD TITANIUM (9) is racing well, draw hurts but he can do some work when needed. HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (1) will come out hard and make decisions from there, early challengers from MY LITTLE BIG MAN (2) and THE WILDCARD (5) who is very quick early. KURIOUS BOY (7) has come back well and is versatile. MANHATTAN MOON (10) has been luckless, value chance for novelty players, going well. Tips: 4 12 9 7 Suggested Bet: RESET THE BAR (4) to win. Race 4 TALKS UP A STORM (2) has the draw and looks the likely leader and one to gun down, he absorbed a lot of pressure last time out but wasn’t disgraced, this looks as suitable as it can get for the gelding. SWEET LUCIFER (4) is racing better than his form reads, he hasn’t had a lot of luck lately and think he maps well in this, good value for the novelties. MAXIMUM ROCK (5) could be in the breeze or close to the speed and is racing well, respect with MINOS (8) who won well last time out, field is tougher and drawn wide. THELITTLE MASTER (9) will be running on as always, he comes in fresh and novelty chances to ALCOPONY (3) who returned well and IMA FIVESTAR GENERAL (10) who has been incredibly luckless. Tips: 2 4 5 8 Suggested Bet: TALKS UP A STORM (2) to win. Race 5 LAVRA JOE (1) hit the line well on his return run and would’ve needed the hit out, he gets the good draw and will be doing his best to hold up, on ability he is the one to beat but there is some decent speed to his outside which could test him. OTIS (2) was brave last time out and is ready to win, will be coming out hard and looks one of the big chances. BETTER ECLIPSE (4) is very consistent and looks for another top 3-4 finish. ROCKANDROLLARTIST (3) and HOTLY PURSUED (5) will both be coming out hard, if the latter could find the top, he would give them something to catch. SORRIDERE (10) is a novelty chance from the draw with MIGHTY RONALDO (9) who returns from a tough draw. Tips: 2 1 4 5 Suggested Bet: OTIS (2) each way Race 6 Hard to go past LITTLE DARLING (9) after running fifth in the WA Pacing Cup and winning the Group 1 Mares Classic, still she returns off a break from the tough draw so there is trepidation there if she opens too short. ALTA ALLURE (6) is racing in wonderful form and has proven to be getting better; she is race fit and looks a chance. SUGAR DELIGHT (3) has improved and looks a novelty chance with STARLIGHT DREAM (5) who returns and CHAMPAGNE EVERYONE (7) and WONDERFUL TO FLY (8) who is a couple steps below her better form. Tips: 9 6 3 8 Suggested Bet: ALTA ALLURE (6) each way. Race 7 ROCKOKOKO (1) was beaten at the poisonous odds last time and is well placed from a much better draw to get the job done, likely to be very short again. OUR CRUNCH TIME (5) beat the pole marker in his debut run in WA, had the luxury of leading there and won’t get that option here, good test for him. NORTHVIEW DANCE (2) is nicely drawn and returns to the stables of Giles Inwood, will get the perfect run. CHASING REX (6) returns and is a consistent type with BETTOR ARCADE (7) who performed well when winning last time out. LINCOLN RIVER (8) looks to bounce back but the draw hurts, expect him to be hitting the line well. Tips: 1 5 2 8 Suggested Bet: ROCKOKOKO/OUR CRUNCH TIME to Exacta. Race 8 DAWSON (9) was gutsy last time out, that was coming off a freshen up and should bring him on nicely, versatile type and can get the job done here. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (6) is a capable type and trialled well, smaller field suits and will be running on strongly. JINGLING JEWELS (1) is racing well and has the speed to lead and with options, expecting him to go well. BEAT THE BANK (3) is improving and could show his best here. Tips: 9 6 1 3 Suggested Bet: DAWSON (9) to win. Race 9 Should be a competitive race. ECLIPSE LINE (7) has elevated in recent runs but won’t get the luxury of leading being off the 30m, BLING IT UP (8) is racing well and likely to settle better in standing start events, has good closing speed and must be respected. JACKIE DANIELS (2) is a place chance from the draw with small winning claims at a big price. PETES HONOUR (9) stepped well in a recent trial, is racing well and this will be a good test. ELDAYTONA (10) has won two of his last three, plenty of traffic for him to get around which makes it challenging. BLUTO (11) returns and might need the run, especially coming off the 50m. AWAITINGINSTRUCTIONS (5) not the worst, reliable standing start. Tips: 8 7 2 9 Suggested Bet: JACKIE DANIELS (2) to place. Market Market
